Yesterday's PGF is being operated this morning by the based E195, CGN by an ATR and RNS by another ATR. The PRG is delayed until 0830 and will presumably be operated by a Jota RJ.

It has been suggested that PGF was cancelled last night as its delayed departure meant it not being able to beat the night curfew there.

This whole operation looks very amateurish and cannot believe the constant delays and cancellations!

So you believe the paying public and the airport will be happy to date?

I don't think it is amateurish. I Do think that Jota will not have the ideal set up for an operation of this type- they have been a fairly low utilisation ACMI operator and will return to being that - less demanding than a high utilisation regular scheduled service set up. They may not want to gear up for the latter type of operation for a short period leaving themselves with too many staff etc when normal times return.

Have to agree with you Stewyb, it looks very poor indeed. The word will soon get around locally - i.e. press and local radio etc.wanting to know what is going on. It must be costing a bit on hotel bills and compensation also. By the way Jota have been advertising for flight deck personnel for some time plus they have other commitments beside the Stobart operation.

I'm not commenting on Jota, but if, it is as you say and they're not ideal to serve Stobart's needs, then it had to be an amateurish decision - or poor if you prefer - to engage them.

The management have at least retained a sense of humour: TOW1 is scheduled to arrive at 1700.

Have to agree with above comments. flybes southend flying programme for today looks a total mess.It seems to be getting worse as they move into the busy summer season.

Stewyb....Sorry you seemed to have missed my meaning.....This thread appears pretty grief ridden already with the highlighting of muddle & delay in the new summer flying programme from the various introspective local posters........it was therefore intended as an attempt at gallows humour....

22/04....exactly as per your previous replier & beaten to it...it stands to reason if you point out Jota`s failings in their defence then another organization will be culpable for the contract award & Jota surely then for accepting it...only half the story I`m afraid....

No problem Southside

Aren't Stobart supposed to have wet lease ex E195's from Flybe? Do you now when these come in to full time operation as at present the aircraft being used are causing all sorts of mayhem!

Wonder if BA would be interested in SEN? Only they're the other airline (to Wizz Air) that Glyn Jones refers to in his previous interview, where he says that they are looking at point to point routes away from LHR. Plus they do have suitable A319/320's in their fleet.

Also there were 3 LGW EZY diversions earlier from BOD (A319), VLC (A319) and RHO (A320).

Any potential profit is going on compensation claims. That is assuming that there was a profit in the first place.

Standing in St. Lawrence Way by the end of the runway I saw Jota (JOTS) depart at 14:20 to Cologne so that definitely wasn't cancelled and the E195 went off to Budapest at about 15:10 so whatever was wrong with that has been put right. It does look, though, that the Milan is in trouble. "Go to ticket desk" on the departure board and "Cancelled" on arrivals.

This evening's Milan departure left a mere 11 minutes late. I doubt if the return leg is cancelled. It's all a bit messy at the moment, both in reality and information wise.

Presumably the collapse of the Cityjet deal and the last minute search for replacements has some impact on the current shenannigans.

I don't think it was a "last minute search for replacements" for Cityjet that resulted in Jota getting the ACMI contract. I believe that Jota was chosen from three candidates for the contract and it wasn't rushed into.

I agree that the delays/cancellations of the past couple of weeks are unacceptable and damaging to the credibility of the operation. They need to remedy the situation quickly.

Lots of people have taken to social media lately to moan about all the cancelled and delayed BE flights. But, could today be the day where no flights are actually cancelled?
