I have no idea as to the frequency, destination or aircraft they want, it might never happen, just know they have been discussing with others. PTT almost certain.
just know they have been discussing with others.
- that they're an existing operator (albeit a seasonal charter),
- the relationship with Peel at DSA, and
- the set ups they've introduced at DSA and CWL.
However, Peels' recent comments have been more along the lines of "we'll talk to anybody who approaches us" rather than actively going out and knocking on doors, so would be interesting to know what sort of discussions thes are (and I know we are unlikely to ever find out)

If in the next couple of years a w-pattern from DSA at the very least cannot be negotiated then even the most die-hard of supporters should consider their views on Peel and the future of DTVA

Overlooking the fact the author needs to urgently resit a GCSE English exam, a very positive press release from Skylive:

We have always had a long term plan and have mentioned from the very start that bringing this airshow back after a 26 years wasn’t a one off and that we would build it bigger & better each year and hopefully get it to the numbers of the past
We listened to all of the feedback of what was good and what was bad from the 2016 event and we have been working on putting that into place for the 2017 show
The most important aspect is obviously the planes what can you see in 2017, we would love to put a full complete website up with all the confirmed planes but we won’t know until early 2017 what planes are guaranteed as the RAF and other forces don’t let us know until this time.
What we can tell you is what we have requested, the RAF element of the 2016 show was a massive crowd pleaser and people have asked for these to come back so we have requested from the RAF The Red Arrows, The Typhoon, BBMF, The Falcons, The Hawk is back displaying in 2017 and the Atlas A400m, we have also been in discussion with the Swiss Airforce and have requested the Patrouille Suisse, The Hornet Display, PC-7 Team and the Super Puma, we are speaking with The Army and the joint helicopter support for the Apache and Chinook displays as well as the Royal Navy
What we can say is that our flying element will be much more in 2017
We are also offering a early bird discount of 10% on all tickets purchased in 2016
All in all 2017 will be Bigger & better

I hope that was done by the work experience kid... Because that is an inexcusable embarrassment in my opinion, and whoever proof read it and thought that was by any stretch of the word, "acceptable..." Should be shot at dawn
Airport debts
707zs asked around re Ncl debt. It's plus 200 million..thanks to previous management! Out of interest how is the DTVdebt running..Beafer..any idea..and why is Ncl managebul. But DTV is cause for concerned?
The NCL debt of £200m+ isn't just debt but also a loan facility (paying for things like terminal improvements and runway re-surfacing).
NCL is also generating profits and paying dividends to shareholders.

I was angered recently when the re-financing of their debt was publicised in a positive light. Debt is debt and is a bad thing no matter how you spin it.
Highwide...Newcastle's is manageable because who on earth would allow a major airport like Newcastle to collapse under debt...no-one...whereas few would blink an eye if a minor airport like DTVA did. Luckily, we either have none or very little.

Steve Gill, chief executive of Durham Tees Valley Airport said
“We welcome the Government’s recommendation for London Heathrow as its preferred location for additional south east capacity. Connectivity into the UK’s global hub is key to supporting economic growth of the regions and secured slots for regional services will ensure the economic benefit including inbound tourism are felt across the UK.
“Heathrow’s announcement proposing that Durham Tees Valley will be one of six domestic routes added once the expansion is completed is welcome and we look forward to working with them and airline partners to explore this in the future.”

Catch 22 -Heathrow Expansion
So,that puts our friends at PEEL on the spot and in a pickle....
A) invest and plan for the future.Routes etc..
B)go with the master plan..houses etc. And hope the residents don't kick off when the airport gets busy(like Heathrow!)
C)come up with another master plan (2) now -that alleviates any future problems !!
Or
D)cut an run!
Answers on a postcard please...

what about the terminal??
2025 when the 3rd runway will be operational at Heathrow apparently.. that's if everything goes to plan, so do we really think the terminal at DTV will still be open then??? lets see in 5 years shall we??
On the other hand, lets hope peel get their act together now and pull something out of the bag with flybe flights via Doncaster or W flights from their..

If any LHR flights materialise, they'll just be on the scale of AMS, so what changes would be needed?
What they would do is strength the global connectivity point, so putting Peel in a stronger position with the LA's

Caravans: Issue with a third party company and not the airport as clearly stated and therefore not relevant to this thread, it's a non-story even if it was
Comments under article: Always the same, luckily the majority of [uninformed] members of the general public all thinking the same thing doesn't make it right

Peels Pinewood Studios has been sold for £323 million.
More money for the rich man on the island. And they say there isn’t any money around. The rich just get richer while taking government grants to put access roads in for housing
