Just read a thread on another airline forum about the Boeing 767
Got me thinking about BA, do they still have 767s in their fleet
Wiki says they have 7x left
Are they on short haul flights or just long haul flights now?
I remember flying from both GLA-EDI to LHR on the 767 thinking what a huge plane it is for such a short route

Aside from those listed above, which will be retired within a year, BA subsidiary OpenSkies too possession of 2 retired BA long haul aircraft. Following a navigation and cabin refit they continue to fly the Atlantic Ocean.

Apart from the longer destinations like Larnaca, the European 767s are assigned as much for cargo capacity as for passenger loads. Once this is determined they then use yield management to divert sufficient passenger load to the individual flight, where there are multiple departures per day, to optimise passenger usage. I'm not quite certain how they are going to handle the cargo capacity when the 767s go.
The downside of using a 777 or 787 for cargo capacity is they are only in the fleet with a high premium seated, low density, long haul layout, even the ones without F, and there does not seem to be sufficient need to reseat an effectively-sized subfleet for European operations.
Can someone tell me why BA still has (at least one) aircraft still in the gold dove livery from the 2012 Olympics ? 5 years on, the whole idea seems to be a bit past its time by now
At the last count, BA were flying 3 A319s in the Olympic Dove scheme.
I doubt that any of their other aircraft will have been repainted twice within 5 years, so why not wait until they are next due? I'd be surprised if flying on a gold aircraft ranks very high in the list of things that passengers complain about.

The impact is that they look awful. Patches of blue everywhere, BA does take it's branding seriously remember. The paintshop at LHR has been out of action for a while so the fleet repainting plan was pushed back again. FCO and DUB have been used for the more recent B777 repaints, one of which had already been repainted into the previous Crest livery.....

I vaguely recall the repaint standard being extended from 5-7 years based on new material/process although I have a feeling that did not take effect in time for the Doves. The contract with the artist was either for 4 or 5 years IIRC so from that perspective it does seem overdue.
For as long as I can remember, BA has taken a somewhat indifferent attitude towards the appearance (both internal and external) of its aircraft, going back as far as the days of tank tape repairs to passenger seats and beyond.
I've said this before but I would like to see a few BA Airbus A320 family a/c painted in Northeast, Cambrian and BEA 'Speedwing' colours. Next time any are due for a new paint job obviously. But not if they end up with blue engine cowls.
I gather there is a retirement plan for the A319s so it would have to be the bigger MiniBuses.

Of course, this was long before the Alex Cruz "let's ruin all our standards" approach.
I am long in the tooth enough (yet still only BA Blue) to recall my last flight on a BA One-Eleven. 1992 I believe, Birmingham to Glasgow. I was aware they were about to be withdrawn, which finally happened about six weeks later. What was striking about the One-Eleven was that it was absolutely immaculate, inside and out. The internal panels, thoroughly clean and polished, looked like they were new. The seats didn't sag. All the antimacassars were aligned.
