They most certainly do not. Their ground F service barring the Concorde Lounge at T5 is probably the poorest of most mainline carriers. Think Lufthansa may offer this type of thing on F. AA do a nice service but is paid for in addition. What most BA crews do well is on arrival will hold all pax back to allow F passengers off first. At the likes of JFK and MIA for immigration, this can make a huge difference. Particularly at MIA is you get on a golf buggy !

Disappointing, but there you go. I know that Swiss and Thai both do it. Makes quite a time difference when they whip out the golf buggy and open the diplomatic channel at passport control.

BA034 JNB-LHR has put the starboard wing through a building on the ground at Jo'burg. Looks like G-BNLL may be a write off....

Saw a tweet from airline route which stated that Sichuan Daily is reporting the BA Chengdu route had a load factor of only 39.5% in November!
Hopefully the addition of the 787 on the route next year (along with the reduction in seats this will bring) will help improve loads/yields. I know November is typically a quiet month but these loads are very very poor.

LBA wasnt far off that load factor- and we are always assured on here that its now a rip roaring success. If youve 39% loads paying full fare Club World im sure they'll be quite satisfied at this early stage.
Wonder what is the cost of retro fitting camera on wingtips so crew can actually see how close they are to an object.
Its not the first time that outer edges have hit something................albeit not is as spectacular fashion as on JNB.
Its not going to stop someone continuing on even when they should stop but should stop some of those bumps that nobody really spots until its too late.

and the 747 at Jo'Burg had 182 !
Regardless of yields this is madness, there seem to be more and aircraft carrying disproportionately less passengers at LHR !

The tail mounted camera like on the A380 would suffice...

Least if on wingtips then less room for doubt.

Bagso you know that the B744 was overflow, third flight of the evening from JNB on BA to LHR when the prevailing traffic was in the opposite direction for xmas? Chengdu is a brave choice I agree but surely you're not suggesting statistical significance be extrapolated from one route's seasonal additions on one day and a new route months old? Surely that's not what you were seriously just doing there? Bagso mate you're smarter than that!

This may sound simplistic but if you can fit a 'reversing' sensor to a car. Why cannot a similar system be attached to aircraft wingtips
This type of incident seems to be on the increase.
With ever more crowded airports perhaps some alert that gives a few feet warning giving time to stop etc.
That BA747 Crew are very lucky. Dont the fuel tanks run inside that far along the wing?
That was potentially a very near disaster.
Also. Better signage. Back lit large or reflective signs in that taxiway in view of the aircraft saying No 767 or Above past this point.
Perhaps Update the Computer for the correct turns on taxiways.
Or as mentioned above .... Camera's. Mounted on the Tail they would give a clear view and perhaps god forbid if a major accident happened. Provide outdoor footage.

Believe you me BA Yield Mgt know their work - look at their recent profits and remember revenue comes from cargo too! New routes - always loose money in fist 12 months of operation, give it time to bed in
