This may sound simplistic but if you can fit a 'reversing' sensor to a car. Why cannot a similar system be attached to aircraft wingtips
This type of incident seems to be on the increase.
With ever more crowded airports perhaps some alert that gives a few feet warning giving time to stop etc.
That BA747 Crew are very lucky. Dont the fuel tanks run inside that far along the wing?
That was potentially a very near disaster.
Also. Better signage. Back lit large or reflective signs in that taxiway in view of the aircraft saying No 767 or Above past this point.
Perhaps Update the Computer for the correct turns on taxiways.
Or as mentioned above .... Camera's. Mounted on the Tail they would give a clear view and perhaps god forbid if a major accident happened. Provide outdoor footage.
