Worst food ever in an airport was from Gordon Ramsey at T5. They couldn't even get eggs benedict right - it finally arrived the 3rd time still lukewarm and then we had to ask for cutlery. Gave up in the end

Quick question, I am on the BA491 which has been diverted to MAD for medical reasons. The Captain came around after landing stating he could have landed at BIO rather than MAD, but he felt MAD was better organised. medically I understand either diversion field was fine, but I am curious, would it have been better to land at a non slot constrained airfield? From what we are told the medical condition was not life threatening, so please do not bite my head off

If you have declared an emergeny you are going to get landing priority regardless of whether the airport is slot-constrained or not.

Thanks Dave, but my question, and maybe I was not clear enough, was about getting out. We are now sat 2 hours on the ground due to resolution of the medical incident and lack of both a take off slot in MAD and now a landing slot in LHR

The captain's decision on where to go will have purely on medical grounds - he went to MAD as that was his best choice for treatment and to stop the issue escallating

what happens after that isn't (and shouldn't be) a consideration

Unforturnately you don' t get a "get out of Jail free" card for doing the right thing in this case

Team GB

Brilliant PR for BA this morning, but some things never change - 10 minutes to manoeuvre a set of steps to the front door.

Rather a petty comment. Some people just have to look for the negative.

It's the details that matter - just like the social media stickers that looked just that. Nonetheless I acknowledge they did a great job overall.

Considering the equipment around the aircraft, the amount of personal, press, ground crew, management and of course the world watching live I think whoever it was took his time and did a good job lining the steps correctly ensuring not to make a b***s up of it.

And an unfortunate side-effect of those lovely white stickers is that they emphasised the rather grubby exterior state of the chosen aircraft.

In fairness G-CIVA is off white, only repaints since 2013 (ish) are brilliant white to match the stickers. If you look, you can see that a lot of aircraft now have nose radomes switched with one of a different colour! #ocd

I see that BA3/4 LCY - JFK are being permanently withdrawn. Is this due to poor load factors? Does anyone know if traffic recently declined or have the flights been marginal for some time?

I understand that Federal pre-clearance at SNN closes before BA3 arrives so presumably passengers still have to clear immigration at JFK.

If this route is struggling I wonder if any all business class service can be viable.

Would anyone want to take a route with a stopover in Shannon if they still had to clear immigration in JFK?

Gatwick to Malaga.

A slight change here, but I looked to book flights from Gatwick to Malaga recently, with BA, for 2017, out 19th August, back 2nd September for two adults, economy, & the flights are incredibly expensive, £1,218! We went the same two weeks last year, & paid nearly half that. Also, other carriers, Monarch etc, & other airports are considerably cheaper, even after adding luggage etc. I know August is a more expensive month, but the fares have really ramped up this year. Easy have not released their flights yet, so can't compare them, any comments?

I've just checked BA.com and it's showing £560 return for that route and date..
