The Icelandair departed to Samarkand in Uzbekistan earlier today.
I understand that the aircraft had some additional titles ... TCS Expeditions? That probably means that the LTN-SKD flight was the first leg on one of these bespoke round the world flights that seem to be increasing in popularity year on year.
Monarch 757's have been used on similar charters in the past and TOM are still carrying out that type of flight with many of theirs seemingly originating in the US. To that end a TOM 757 positioned from Luton to Washington within the past few days presumably to start one such tour.

Any one know how things are progressing on the sale to AENA. Must be getting on for a couple of months since the proposed sale was announced . I am sure I read somewhere that the 10 October(tomorrow) was a crucial date.

Exciting times for Luton hopefully!
AENA must deal with most European airlines, let's hope this yields further business? I wonder if we will now get a press release about the huge Monarch expansion now the deal between LBC and AENA has been approved?

Exciting times today Buster! Brand new El Al B737-900 I think on delivery flight via new York to Tel Aviv, Montenegro Airlines E190 with there football team and Travel Service B737-800 from Rome I think with Italian rugby players for this weekend matches. Seems quite a few one-off charters at the moment.

They announced today that the 'omani investor' does not exist. They have no money to pay (~70) employees, one of the 3 executives stepped down, another one is is hospital for fatique. It seems that you won't have them in LTN.
