The seats are made near LGW so there is little point in shipping them half way round the world just to fly them back again.
For the Jet2 Holidays livery Boeing do the basic blue and white and the rest is done here. Something to do with the difficulty of painting the sun.

Is anyone able to explain why they have two different liveries? Personally, I think their holiday one is tacky beyond belief and makes them look like a tinpot operation whereas their silver one is quite classy. It's also confusing them having two liveries. Weird decision.

I personally wouldn't say it's confusing. They manage to market well enough so that while customers know its a seperate part of the businness it's still part of Jet2.com the airline. Its also worked extremely well as it is now considered as part of the "top 3" in the UK behind Thomson and Thomas Cook. Not bad work in just a small few years!

We are being blitzed with TV adverts for the new STN routes in London and you see their freight company trucks with Jet 2 emblazoned on the sides going up and down the A1.
Whoever is handling their campaign is doing a good job of raising awareness of the brand down here.

This weeks figures from Dart show how compared to Easyjet their business plan is working.
Profits are up 12% and revenue 21%. Easyjet profits down 28% and revenue dwon 0.4%.
Easyjet state their internal europe flights outside the u.k. are hemorrhaging money. Easyjet shares now down by 50%.
Jet2 must be glad they only fly out the u.k. in the main, internal europe business a nightmare at the moment.

So with all this positivity new deiveries, bright schemes, expansion STN , BHX etc., then am I missing something..
to go down a well trodden path then JET2 continues to operate one of the largest fleets (26!) of ageing 733's, some over 30 years old, average age 26.2 years. In addition well over over 50% of contemporary frames have been scrapped or stored never to fly again.
Now I'm not questioning the quality of JET2's engineering maintenance & accept that the engines themselves are probably as old or young as those of any other operator, but there is something a little disturbing when one considers the amount of stress that these aircraft have suffered over such a long period.
It's clearly not a marketing point, & the glossy colours & bright interiors can hide quite a lot to the unassuming holiday maker.
The obvious conclusion with these new deliveries would be retirement of these old frames, but is this consistent with the forthcoming route expansion?
More tellingly how many of the new deliveries are to end up replacing old 733 routes at existing northern airports, or conversely allocated to STN / BHX ?

I don't see why it should be such a problem, Lufthansa have similar aged planes, as do British Airways. I have every confidence in Jet2's maintenance and just as with every operator, the oldest/most used aircraft will be retired first
Personally I'd much rather fly on one of the older aircraft, but I understand that I'm the minority. Very much looking forward to my NCL-EWR flight on 8th December, and hoping I get 'AB or 'AE, the 2 oldest ETOPS 757's

Sorry Leeds spotter could you point me in the easyJet annual report where it says the non-UK domestic services are haemorrhaging money because I cannot find it anywhere. If they were I am sure they would have decided to stop flying the routes. Also it is easyJet NOT Easyjet.
