Brilliant news for Stansted
An additional aircraft and 4 news routes bringing Stansted base to 7 Aircraft and including winter flight brings bookable routes to 27 with additional seats capacity on some already announced sun routes

It looks like Stansted and Leeds Bradford have gained from the latest batch of flights to be released. Over 900 Departures per week (923 to be exact)now loaded for the peak season based on August 2017. There are 4 new routes from Stansted (as well as a few frequency increases) where the new flights at Leeds Bradford are all increased frequencies on existing routes.

Big earners like MAN, BHX and STN (maybe EDI) will attract the new aircraft first
From what we have been told, next year will see the new aeroplanes in exactly these bases. I know nothing of the supposed "big earners", however there is a strategy behind ring fencing the new aeroplanes to certain bases at first, that is the requirement of different sets of spares, by putting the aeroplanes in just the 3 locations, there is no requirement to have more spares in the system at other bases.

As detailed in what you quoted SWBKCB, the new aeroplanes require some additional spares over and above the norm, so, to answer your question -
- Yes.
is there really any differentiation between "new" and "old" model 738's when it comes to basing?

Is there no news/word of Jet2 buying any second hand B737-800's this year?
I would have thought that with the expansion(an additional 11 aircraft between Birmingham & Stansted alone) and the retirement of quite a few B737-300's(I think 5 so far last year), that an intake of some second hand aircraft was necessary?
I know that there has been 8 new B737-800's delivered, and 4 due shortly, but with 5 300's gone(and possibly more to follow), the numbers don't add up.

Jet2 leasing 5x aircraft next summer.
5x aircraft been leased by Jet2 this summer.
MAN 1x = A330 - RAF/Air Tanker
MAN 1x = A321 - Titan Airways
EMA 1x = B738 - Primara
PMI 1x = B738 - Air Europa
STN 1x = A320/B752 - Titan Airways
16x Boeing 737-8MG's will have be delivered before April. For operational reasons 3x will be based LBA with the remaining 13x other split elsewhere in the network. You won't see either G-GDFF or G-GDFJ at LBA unless for Mx reasons.

Ah you're quite correct, that's a pity as I was planning to watch it on Sunday! Showing airborne on FR24 at 09:40 as EXS033E to Leeds. What about G-CELO in Edinburgh, last day too?
