I believe that AirGuru may be referring to some information provided by a senior figure in the aviation forum I alluded to in my post yesterday. The person is highly respected in the Welsh aviation scene with sources close to the airport and was informed of a positive development for the airport that was supposed to be going to be announced before Christmas, although what the positive development is was not disclosed in that forum.
The fact that it wasn't announced last month has led to speculation that it will be announced this week now that the festive season has ended.
The senior aviation forum figure said the development is 'not huge' although it will be 'welcome'. There are other rumours circulating that a larger development may be in the wind. The Wales Government has a lot of money that it's anxious to spend on route development.

A 47% load factor and a £184 pubic subsidy (as reported) per passenger to routinely fly a lot of politicians to Anglesey on a J31 seems like an outrageous waste of public money to me.
Welsh politics and Welsh aviation are equally depressing.

Hard to argue with that, WWW.
Just a reminder to all those that are looking forward to all sorts of developments now that the WG has found a pot of gold for prospective operators - there are EU rules on using state funding for air carriers, and those rules got tightened up hard this year. And remember that under EU rules, BRS is actually IN the CWL catchment, meaning that any funds going to start a route that someone in BRS operates is going to cause all hell to break loose.
The WG should not be running an airport, they clearly have no clue, and should stick to what they can do. And if anyone works out what that may be, could they tell the First Minister?

Former Deputy First Minister insists massively subsidised air service is good value - Wales Online
and a bit of comeback..
Aviation expert savages Ieuan Wyn's defence of 'wasteful and polluting' north-south air link - Wales Online
add Holland to the list? Also like the way the same picture is used on both stories but with two different captions?!

Interesting to read on here about the CWL-IOM service starting for the summer just when EZY announce the new BRS-IOM route using an A319.

Well any "good" route news will be great for CWL, regardless of destination, it's about time CWL had some good fortune and got in a new airline and new destinations...fingers crossed

FR @ CWL
Talking of Ryanair at CWL, nice to them again putting on even more rugby flights instead of having to use BRS like the olden days.
Welcome to Ryanair Fly To Cardiff For Rugby World Cup Or Poland For Euro 2016 Qualifier - See more at: http://corporate.ryanair.com/news/news/150106-ryanair-launches-2015-irish-sport-specials/?market=ie#sthash.pf8L26TV.dpuf!
I do wonder if this new relationship FR has with CWL is going to flourish anymore...?
Watch this space I guess.

Great news. The RWC this year should provide a lot of extra flights, Aer Lingus have a LOT of extra flights on sale using EI mainline and Stobart Air.
With regard to the positive news, it is still due this week. Should provide us a good bonus, I hope ... Here's to 2015 guys !

That's very respectful loads with Ryanair on the CWL-TFS sector, maybe their new relationship with CWL will blossom, let's hope so !!
Still no big announcement yet though as previously discussed, it be good to see some news for CWL as fed up about reading of the success of BRS

Is this the 'big annoucement' mentioned?
Whilst it's good news that the service is returning, albeit with a different carrier, I'd hoped it would be a new destination or airline.
Here's hoping though te route is well utilised, and Flybe see the potential at Cardiff and grow its presence.

I totally agree with arfortune and hope this wasn't the "big announcement" even though it's good news that BE will operate the weekly DUS flight.
Still now news with Links Air, let's hope there's more good news to come

Well as long as it's thought through carefully, it be interesting to see where they will go to........fingers crossed a new destination for the departure and arrival board. It sounds like it's 2 destinations for both CWL and VLY, so BHD/BFS sounds a possibility. IOM too but got to remember EZY out of BRS.
Interesting times ahead for Links Air, great to see and hear about !!
