And build another cul de sac, one of the few good things about the current layout is aircraft pushing back on the eastern end can go back far enough to allow arrivals pass in front while they start up. That would go with eastward expansion. 1 in, 1 out really slows down movements
Not trying to be antagonistic btw, just trying to figure out if the DAA are actually going to build something right airside for a change. The plans I've seen for 28R/10L are great, mainly due the 2 new parallel taxiways on the south side allowing a certain carrier to wait for their numbers on acars without delaying everyone else....

So whilst a departure was taxiing out of the eastern end of T2 for either 28 or 34 you would need to hold any arrival at F until departure was clear? This blocking any departures from T1 from getting to the runway? Granted 16/34 can be used for taxiing during single ops on 28, but not during 16/34 ops or dual runway IE peak period. I know dual ops is only certified for 90 mins a day and is exceptionally departure biased but available taxiways are at a premium in DUB at the best of times, let alone during peak periods.

AA
August is the reported start month for AA B777 on ORD, does seem a strange time to up capacity but will be a great addition.
Most probable B772 which are in the process of been changed from 247 (3 class) to 260 (2 class) by end of 2016.

If true hopefully it will improve their OTP, because it's pathetic normally!
Whatever aircraft schedule changes took place at ORD paid off big time.

With the massive delays in the refit work on the AA 772 fleet it will be more like end 2017 rather than 2016 when they are all completed. I think they have only managed to complete 6? so far from a fleet of 47!
Just noticed that Agean's flight to ATH is overnight. Departs 23.15, arrives 05.15. Intra Europe that's just ridiculous. Who wants to take a four hour flight that takes away a night's sleep, especially when EI has Tuesday and Thursday departures at 7 a.m. and Saturdays at 14.40.
Mad stuff.
Mad stuff.
Can't imagine why you'd go with it though, if there was an available and far better timed alternative. I've never been and am thinking about it but no way am I doing it overnight.

DUB-ATH
Would an 0515 arrival in ATH be a good time if you were to connect to the ferry services from Pireaus? The other flights often necessitate a night in Athens before heading off to the islands.
I would have thought people going to the islands would mainly be on packages. And if not surely you'd want to spend a day or two in Athens? Anyway, no biggie. Just thought it was a little odd.
