Just had an email from TOM confirming that the EDI base will be a 738. What they havent decided is weather it shall be there own crew/aircraft or Sunwings.

I'm sure both EDI and LBA will be tom crews and aircraft sunwing will just be doing the Irish bases this year as they were not able to get enough crews to be able to do the operation out of the two above.

Going back to the bases for Summer 2014, 4 767's are required but TOM will only have 3 by then. Any idea where the 4th is coming from?

The 4th 767 will more than likely come from tui Nordic as per previous years, the 767 in LGW doesn't start flying shorthaul until mid july

simple reason is it has enough seats to cover anything in the fleet if it goes tech, usually a 757 & 737 on stby aswell.

787 sharm flight Man

Hi All,

Does anybody know which day the 787 is flying to SSH from MAN. I contacted Thomson, any they didn't know and told me the 787 is for long haul only. I know it's only a rumour at the moment....thanks

Looking at Thomsons website, the 787 isn't scheduled to operate any MAN-SSH flights this summer.

787 doing the occasional SSH from GLA, but no other UK bases.

All the SSH's from MAN are 757 until September, and 737 in October.
Government Health Warnings, and last minute aircraft swaps for crew/tech/etc still apply of course..

EDI didn't have a problem with crews last summer. The only problem they did have was major reliability problems with the Sunwing aircraft, leading to Cancelled flights and a lot of flights being covered by TOM aircraft.

Cancelled flights? I've never known Thomson cancel a flight unless extreme circumstances (Volcanic Ash, severe weather etc)
Delayed possibly?
Thomson are a holiday Airline, they will always do their upmost to get their passenger on their holiday, albeit sometimes a bit late!
