Ops, I did it again,

Complaints are being filed against BEFREE. Mods, emails have been sent.

This sort of stuff has to stop Quote: BEFREE "Silverjet has had to place a £500,000 bond with credit card firms to hedge them for when they go under"

Totally unacceptable fabrication !!

Can you at least register a complaint on the investor sites ??

Sounds like befree is treading a very dangerous path. Am I right in thinking that there are laws against this kind of thing, attempting to manipulate share prices through false statements??

looking at past posts it seems like Silverjet are their latest target, having previously posted plenty about Ryanair, CVT/Thomsonfly and BHX also seem to have been coming in for some attention lately as well. Hopefully he/she will get bored with Silverjet soon and move on to the next victim.

After reading many of the posts on there it seems that others are getting the measure of him/her, unfortunately it doesn't look like enough. Might be worth signing up

Any of our legal colleagues able to post as to whether befree/I am myself has crossed the line?

Time for Mods to consider banning perhaps?

I believe in free speech but this guy is on a mission to damage this company and should be banned from here.

Silverjet-befree

This person (I use the word advisedly) definitely has got a hidden agenda. I have tried to keep out of this stupidity, but I feel I must respond.
The management have never said they will be profitable within 15 months, they might be operationally profitable and that is totally different. Everybody knows that airline’s never make a profit in the first year or so (look at BMI Baby which is still not profitable after several years of operation).
If befree says he is good at figures I suggest that he spends more time trying to spell the English language correctly!
PS The inbound New York flight last Saturday (19 January) had 95 passengers on board (practically a full load).

i tend to agree with LTNman, while free speech and rumour is most of the fun on here, we have heard all the stories we need to about the chances of SJ going under. lets just wait and see who is right, bfree or the SJ directors. i am one who hopes they can succeed. as an ex maxjet satisfied customer, i would be a willing buyer of a £1000 or so return to las or mia if they add these to the route network.

good luck to all at SJ, i wish you every success.

Befree/I Am Myself

Seems like they have a dislike to EasyJet and Ryanair as well on the iii website (take a look at their posting history on there)

No place for this type of person on our forum, methinks.

"HELP!"

I have just seen lights in the sky, if Whipsnade disappears via an earthquake, blame befree!

Silverjet do not need unsubstantiated rumours affecting their future befree however, I would like to be the first to fully acknowledge that you are a of platinum proportions!

Keep seeing them lights befree and let us all know once you have returned to earth!

"befree phone home!"

Anyway, back down to earth, I know of a few folk to take advantage of the current Silver Deal. Yield management and creating customer awareness at its best.

Angry Silverjet boss grounds Mayor Ken

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/mai...nsilver122.xml

The boss of upmarket airline Silverjet has banned London Mayor Ken Livingstone from the carrier's flights after a bust-up.

Lawrence Hunt, chief executive of the airline that started services last January with a daily flight from Luton airport to New York, said he wanted nothing more to do with Mr Livingstone.

"I can't stop him booking with me but if I find he's on one of our flights, I'm going to cancel it," he said.

Mr Hunt has not forgiven the Mayor for comments he made after he took a Silverjet flight last May to attend a conference on climate change in New York.

Accompanied by his economics director John Ross, climate change adviser Mark Watts and media director Joy Johnson, Mr Livingstone was grounded for almost two hours at Luton by an air traffic control computer failure.

Arriving at New York's Newark airport, the Mayor declared to an Evening Standard reporter: "It was the worst flight of my life."

A furious Mr Hunt tracked down Mr Livingstone to his New York hotel and demanded that the mayor clarify in the same newspaper that his experience was no fault of Silverjet's. He did not.

Mr Hunt has been incensed ever since that a company that has invested £50m in a start-up airline in London and created 300 jobs should see its business undermined by the capital's Mayor.

Yesterday, Mr Livingstone said his remarks referred only to severe air turbulence above Newark and praised Silverjet for its "excellent" service. "The claim that the quotation referred to Silverjet's service is entirely invented," he said.

That failed to pacify Mr Hunt, however. "To come up with this explanation nine months later just isn't good enough", he said. "We asked him to clarify his comments and he didn't. I don't want him on my flights any more. I don't want him making any more stupid comments."

Silverjet, whose innovations include a ladies-only loo and a personalised in-flight entertainment system, currently flies twice daily to Newark and daily to Dubai.

The Aim-listed stock has had a turbulent time on the markets, however. Last week, the shares went into a 28pc tailspin in a single day after Mike Stoddart, an analyst at stockbroker Daniel Stewart, claimed they were worthless.

The shares partially recovered after Silverjet said Mr Stoddart's note contained "numerous material mistakes".

Mr Hunt said: "I'm going to write to the FSA [Financial Services Authority] and Stock Exchange and say they should be censuring this firm [Daniel Stewart] for allowing this sort of stuff to go out that's so factually incorrect. The guy is a complete muppet and his note is full of schoolboy errors."

He added that Mr Stoddart was also unwelcome on Silverjet flights, saying: "There's an exclusion zone around Luton for him."

Mr Stoddart declined to comment on his note, but pointed out: "British Airways could ban me from their flights and it wouldn't make a great deal of difference to my life because I don't fly a lot."

imagine being stuck on an 8 hour flight next to red ken, i would be demanding my money back

it never fails to amuse me how these environmentalists can justify flying business/first class to a climate change conference. perhaps he should take a rowing boat or solar powered flight.

mr hunt is going up in my estimation, might even book one of his flights now.

Am I correct saying that Silverjet shares are down 75% (52 weeks). Or is there a problem with the server?

I see they have appointed a new non exec director from Easy. Nothing to read into this apart from they were told to get somebody rather quickly by the city as part of the corporate governance policy scheme. Has a director left or was this an oversight by SIL?

Nothing to read into it. Silverjet have a very good relationship with Easyjet with some of Easy's management flying with them and being suitably impressed. A mutual appreciation I believe.

Perhaps a running jump would have been better for Ken

On a good note it was SilverJet's first birthday yesterday!

Glad to see that they have lasted the first year at least and wish them luck for the future!

Silverjet mulls Dubai franchise

"Silverjet is currently looking at plans to establish a franchise based in Dubai, it has emerged.

Speaking to Zawya Dow Jones, Lawrence Hunt, chief executive of the business class airline, said the company was considering setting up a franchise to further expand its operations and put on extra flights to destinations in Europe, the USA and Asia.

The news comes after the carrier launched new business class flights from from Luton Airport in November last year, which received "an incredible response" from passengers, according to Mr Hunt.

He said in the interview with Zawya Dow Jones that if the company manages to raise the necessary funds, the Dubai franchise could be up and running within the next six months.

Silverjet also flies to New york from Luton Airport and is to receive two extra extended range aircraft this year - which could result in the airline adding more flights to its schedule"

Silverjet shares today have collapsed by another 6% ending the day at their lowest since flotation. According to reports a major investor has sold a large stake based on the latest analyst reports.

Are we watching a sinking ship? I hope not.

I'm afraid that you are watching a sinking ship. I like what they have done at Silverjet and I think they have done their best with an idea still in its infancy. But i'm afraid there is only one place to be during a recession (or up-coming slow down) and that is in a low cost airline...

Its simple maths. low cost will always win during times of economic down-turn.
