17 not bad!!
Been in BRU the last few days and some dreadfull numbers on regional flights from LBA & EMA many single numbers, Regional crews don't seem worried by the loads though, only part of bmi making money they say, must be making a fortune on other routes?

Amazing how everyone thinks their own little part of the great tapestry is the only one worth anything.

The loads on other sectors like Edi Zrh Cph Bru have been good so it's all relative. Bru and Haj from lhr have had good loads too. If any part of the group is placing money in the company pot it has to be a good thing. It really is not a time for division but I guess everyone is worried about their own back yard.

LBA-BRU can have 8 passengers on it one day, then 35 on it the next. Varies amazingly as do a lot of bmi regional routes, but does it really matter? When you look for a return fare to BRU from LBA it averages around £200! The profit is raked in on the few days it has decent loads.

Talking of bmi regional not making a profit on certain routes due to poor loads, I have noticed over the past couple of days G-EMBI of bmi regional sat on the ground at LBA between 12pm and 4pm going no where. Surely this doesn't make any sense having a plane sat on the ground for such long periods during the day?

All depends on whether they can find something to do in those times
You will have 3 turn rounds to do say 30 mins per time that then leaves you
2Hrs 30mins to play with on 2 flights which probably would take you to somewhere
of no use at that time of day as a lot of business flights are cut back during July/Aug

17 pax is at least better than the 14 that the Flybe D8-4 from CDG-CWL had on when it diverted in to LGW with smoke!
The BRU numbers have always been slow in Summer as our MEP and their hangers-on take 3 months+ off to spend their ill-gotten gains in their summer houses around Europe.
It will be interesting to see what DLH does with these routes as it now owns SN Brussels airline, in many ways it ought to make sense for bmir to base its BRU flights from Brussels, Europe is an hour ahead so leaving BRU at 07:00 local you would be into say LBA at 07:00 local and a 25 min should have you back into BRU 09:25. it would get you at least an extra sector a day because FTL are based on local time.
At least our BBQ Summer (joke) seems to be helping baby with nealy 300 pax each way out to AGP on many days this past few weeks.

There is only one small problem with your cunning plan.......that it would leave us in Leeds without a based aircraft!! mind you if your are spening most of your time in a hotel in Brus: you might aswel be based there, still better than driving to bloody Chester every day and getting lewd e-mails from t'management

Has anyone ever encountered a bmi television, radio or newspaper advertisement? Certainly no expert, but I reckon they could really do with some profile-raising. Get themselves known a bit. Everyone in the world knows Ryanair, almost wholly as a result of its direct or indirect advertising, good or bad. I have often thought BD has got to the position it has partly because of luck, rather than profile and widespread reputation.
I'd say Lufty should try and invest on some midland advertising. It is, after all, a good airline with a long history. It would be such a shame to lose it.
Perhaps midland should tell The Sun they're charging pax a quid to go to the bog...
