mobile phones

Just travelled from LHR to BHD on BMI. Crew were ok which is normal for belfast crew, london crew a bit hit and miss. However bit disappointed that on approach at about 300ft the pax in front of me took a mobile call and when I reported it to the crew she just laughed it off. Is this the norm now?

I thought the XI and O leased embraers weren't going back to the lessors until the last quarter of this year. Does that mean that bmi regional have 2 additional aircraft until the end of the year?

bmi regional pull all but one unit out of Leeds

Just heard from a fked of bm i regional pilot that all but one of the Embraers are coming out of Leeds, with GLA & EDI sevice to LBA operated with Scottish based units in GLA & EDI. A new base at Chester to support the Airbus contract, so another casualty of the banking fall out.

I see a number of problems with this not least is that early departures into Leeds will face the worst of the early morning fog at LBA come the Fall.

As ever with the twisted Scottish Aberdeen management its all about jobs in Scotland and Leeds based pilots will have a choice of Chester or central Scotland, both of which are comuterable from Leeds, er not, but the muppets in aberdeen no nothing of geography South of the Clyde/Forth valley............lots of very unhappy LBA pilots.........

So this leaves for now just the BRU same as EMA,still it will open the door for Flybe

Bmi regional are pulling two units out of Leeds (GLA&EDI) services leaving just BRU as a Leeds based unit, all flights are being operated by single cabin crew as of now with CC jobs to go, Manchester Glasgow is also being chopped

Apparently bmi Regional have just taken on 2 Embraers from flyBe to operate the Chester contract, I dont see why they would pull almost everything out of Leeds?

Little in the way of paying customers, so if Flybe want it they aint gonna make any cash! As for the comments about ABZ management |I can't comment

Trousers being dropped and lube being added!

Ps nothing to add at mo. Think the the company effectively has no management until the Lufty/Bishop thing is sorted. No decisions that require money are being made. The two Flybe airframes will replace the Polish machines, one of which is being prepped in ABZ for return. It's all a bit st.

Leeds pilots moving base

Leeds based pilots will have a choice of Chester or central Scotland
Presumably, with Chester being a new permanent base, the crew will be obtained by asking for volunteers from the whole company and then selected by seniority - as per the MOA. I don't think it will be as simple as Leeds pilots having a choice!

And just to clear things up, it's XN and XO that are the ex-LOT airframes.

I wouldnt assume they will do it as per the MOA. The MOA means absolutely nothing. This was proven by what they got away with at Baby.

Are You?

Captain Sensible I can find no reference to Lisa Ashton on the BBC web site, or a songwriter of the year competition. Perhaps it was not bmi telling lies at the tribunal, or your response is confused?

As the the abaya, a google search will pull up a number of comments on the story suggesting that not wearing one in Saudi maynot be required but is "required" as one American lady living in Saudi puts it.

mmm, not up to date with the music business are we then....how many singers do you know operate under the real name?.If you missed it on the Radio try EVE magazine a few years back, nice big article on her, failing that, did you not see her lots and lots on SKY ONE with her band..prob not dont worry, it gets repeated quite a bit, hey email Chris Evans, you know the red headed one on BBC Radio Two, he plays her.....................No defo BMI who lied .

As for the case, I think you might be hearing about it again in the near future a little birdy infact, a very "big birdy" tells me......something to do with BMI....oh I could not possibly comment could I, Hope the managers concerned are not too worried about it......They been bullying crew for years, picked on the wrong one me thinks this time. Its always great isnt it when people get there comeuppance dont you think. Oh and before I forget,..dam no I would love to but I wont say here, it will be so much more of a "supprize" when it does.

Yes your right there is ONE lady out of several hundred who said that she is "required" to wear the abaya...keep looking you might find ONE that says its a requirement for women to walk behind the men as well, as demanded in the BMI memo....might be a long look though.

Now whats that saying...arrr thats it "see you in court" well if you are a manager that is

Ok mr moderator, you can ban me again now if you like...hmmm some people (in a David Brent kind of voice and look and dont forget to stroke your chin)....over and out

Could someone just confirm for me that BMI are to cut completely to Manchester to Glasgow route?

Bad news indeed, considering the number of NATS staff the impending move up north would put their way....

The MAN/GLA definitely finishes at the end of the month (June). The memo is on the bmi intranet.
