"C" Check
On the B757 it will be weeks, not days and depending if it is a 4C check it might be months.
"C" check intervals are by numbers, the higher the number the bigger the check, so longer down time.
"C" checks on the B757 are normally every 18 months, so an example would be like this, 1C, next time 2C & 1C, then next 3C & 1C and next 4C, 2C & 1C and so on.
The normal numbering on the B757 is 1C, 2C, 3C, 4C, 5C, 6C, 8C, 10C & 12C.

DOZENS of passengers suffered the terror of two aborted landings because the pilot feared the runway wasn't safe to land on.
People on board the flyglobespan jet froze as the Boeing 737-700 was twice pulled back into the air.
Poor visibility and lack of a landing guidance system on the secondary runway at Edinburgh Airport - being used while the main strip is resurfaced - prompted the pilot's actions.
But the passengers, who were re-routed to Glasgow Airport, were left terrified.
Retired couple Harry and Rosie Blackley were on the flight.
Rosie, 61, said: "It was awful. Passengers cried out in fear."
Grandfather Harry added: "We were left a bunch of nervous wrecks. There were a lot of upset people."
Rosie and Harry, of Penicuik, Midlothian, were returning from Lanzarote early on Monday when the drama unfolded.
Buses were laid on at Glasgow to take passengers to Edinburgh.
Edinburgh Airport's main runway is closed at night for major resurfacing work.
A spokeswoman for flyglobespan yesterday said sorry to passengers. She added: "Safety is always our primary concern."

See that effin Daily Record - I was on that flight, and the captain came over the PA straightafter the go around to state the weather is too poor and because the main runway is closed, they can't use the automatic landing that they would normally use in poor weather!!!
People really annoy me when they head straight to the papers. GSM can't bloody win! If they landed on the runway, and something happened, they'd get bad press.

Similar things have happened to me before when the plane has come in to land and had to abort for some reason so gone back up, I wasn't (and I dare say 99% of the passengers weren't) 'terrified'. It's sensationalist press that seem to target the lo-co carriers these days because it's 'in fashion'.

Edinburgh is resurfacing the main runway at night 2200-0445 Z, Sunday to Thursday inclusive until 24 October. Runway 12/30 is available.
When the cloud ceiling is below 1000 ft & the visibility is less than 5 kms
life will become interesting & diversions to Glasgow will be probable.

The Daily Record scare stories over the 767 'landing on a rubber coated runway' following an engine problem in the new year caused such a sh*t storm, it's hardly any wonder TD has cut his West of Scotland advertising budget !
How poorly has BA' Terminal 5 performed since opening ??? Has anyone really commented???

Brought it all on themselves, last year was a fiasco and webby 1 days flights going on time means nothing,
They want to treat people like s**t ,then this year dont want the "scottish" papers commenting.
Think there going to have to do a lot more before there trusted with peoples hard earned cash.
Another interesting summer ahead, especially with the 76 flying everyday and no chance of TD subbing anything in to cover .
1st may let the circus begin.......

I am optimistic about S08. It can't actually be any worse the S07.
2 B763s will be back to cover the flight programme with downtime. Airlines will have delays, its a fact. When GSM is as big as it is, with 17 A/C, it's bound to have delays. At least they don't cancel flights.
Also, W08 SFB flights released - weekly Tues flight on the B752.

WO8 SFB flights have been cut down alot from W07 have they not.

The B752 will operate the SFB flight, out Tues and returns Thurs with crew on min rest over at SFB. This will use up the B752 for Tues/Wed, there might be the possibility of the YHM flights to operate over winter maybe weekly, as the SFB flights.
Will have to wait and see what they release.
