Anyone know how many TOM aircraft we will have for Summer 2008 - latest being x2 733 and x2 757's
I cant see it being more than x2 757's and x1 733. Unless TOM increase their higher frequency flights (BCN/ALC/JER/AGP/PMI etc) there's not enough to fill an extra 733 schedule, swap the 733 for a 738!

I was under the impression XL weren't getting their A330's untill Nov 08. Will they be doing more than just 3/4 high season flights?

Great news on the Zoom JFK flights, where did you find this? Wasn't it the echo that first brought this to light? Maybe Zoom and the airport are using it to try and see the reaction....

Looking at what i have seen on the TOM website it seems as if there will only be 3 aircraft 1 x 733 and 2 x 757

Without the JER and BCN this is how it looks

MON - FNC, LPA, IBZ, PMI, ZTH
TUE - ALC, CFU, FAO, EFL, AGP, PMI, REU
WED - IBZ, LCA, MAH, PFO, RHO
THU - ALC, DLM, SSH, HER, AGP, PMI
FRI - CFU, IBZ, PMI, TFS, BOJ
SAT - ALC, FAO, GRO, IBZ, KOZ, AGP, PMI
SUN - ALC, BJV, FAO, ACE, AGP, PMI

I'm not 100% certain but i think i heard that the heineken cup final is back at CWL again, which i remember 2was a very big hit last time around. (obviously this was as none of the teams were welsh).

Interesting to hear about the ZOOM CWL-JFK flights, be nice to see that becoming permanent.

I have also seen that Flybe as allowed 30 mins for the CDG-CWL-BHD as at least 90% of the CWL-BHD receive further delays due to transit passengers have to clear both immigration and security before returning to the aircraft. It is a shame that nothing has been added by them yet.

Been looking at the Aer Arann website and it looks like in the winter there will be no direct flights to GWY, for GWY passengers will have to connect at DUB.

Mon - DUBx3, ORK
TUE - DUBx2, ORK
WED - DUBx2, ORK
THU - DUBx3, ORK
FRI - DUBx3, ORK
SAT - DUB
SUN - DUBx2, ORK

The JFK flights are a one off charter for Travelscope so I wouldn't get too excited just yet.

Seems a bit of a waste for baby to have one a/c lying around for most of the day. On some days there isn't even a morning departure for one a/c so there is plenty of scope for another couple of routes even. Unlikely however.

Regarding Centralwings in the news article from which it was first rumoured they claimed that 'talks were in the final stage' so sounds like the management couldn't secure the route. What a shame, and the possibility of losing the Barcelona flights too!

Well the article for Centalwings did say the announcement would be in two weeks, which is today. So it could still happen, however I am skeptical at Lodz, as Warsaw would be far more likley for them.

BCN, as said earlier, the scheduled routes for TOM will be announced, in the winter for next summer, along with all their other summer scheduled routes. Only the charter ones have already been announced, and these are subject to change. The release will probably be around October/ November time.

WW will surley have a quiet winter this year with that schedule, but a sign that yield ,ay not be as strong, as some would like to suggest for them on certain routes.

Danger

Nothing on here about the fire in ICS's building so I thought I'd share a few pictures.
Happened last night apparently whilst their staff were out on aircraft, not clear who raised the alarm, but it was apparently caused by a radio catching fire.

ICS Building from outside.

Inside

Notice Board

Corridor

Looks pretty gutted, apparently the building will be written off.

Heard about the ICS building when i got in this afternoon. Apparently the Aviance ramp controller spotted it from the camera when he was trying to find one of the guys collecting a set of steps.

It does look pretty gutted, but i have noticed their vehicles parked there today so where are they operating from at the moment?

Re - Gwy

RE CWL-GWY is definately staying...it provides very High load factors for RE, and will operate Thur & Sun.

RE are cleverly giving the option to interline @ DUB on the other days the service doesn't operate.

Been having a look at the BmiBaby website and based on the 07th of January this is what my guess is how it looks. On saturday's the WW2901 to JER will still be operated by an aircraft at another base. Arrives at CWL 17:00 and departs at 17:30.

There is quite a lot of gaps in their schedule, with a bit of luck there could be something new but i doubt it very much.

Thomsonfly S08 & Zoom

Looking at the schedule and the gaps, it looks like BCN and JER flights will continue to be x4 wkly and similar timings, as well as VRN on a wed
- FAO will reduce to x3 wkly.
- PMI will be x6 wkly, all flown on TOM a/c, this year they used FCA and AEA.
The extra 752 will be doing 12 flights. Taking the total flights up to 50 a wk, Whereas this years flights were 43.
That said, with the loss of the 763, and FCA (if anyone can confirm how many flights that a/c does at the moment), no real expansion in terms of pax figures.
Winter should be better this year with 23 flights (with 2-3 ski flights on top), which will be a nice increase on 14 last winter. And as previously mentioned, more cruise flights on top of that.

Just been checking on Zoom too. Winter flights (end in Dec) split with LGW. But looks like YYZ will be a direct CWL only flight next summer!

Not a bad S)8 line form Tom there, I wonder if cardiff can pull something out of that with German routes now that it isnt served from BRS it would give cardiff a chance to slip in, but as things are going I would presume that the airport might let that one slip again and allow BRS to get themselves back in, as all these fantastic rumours have once again gone dead

The FCA schedule online is showing the current

MON - BOURGAS, CORFU, DALAMAN, FUNCHAL, MAHON
TUE - KEFALONIA, PALMA, REUS
WED - KOS, PAPHOS, RHODES
THU - DALAMAN, ARRECIFE,
FRI - HERAKLION, MALAGA
SAT - ALICANTE, PALMA
SUN - BODRUM, LARNACA, PAPHOS

I know that Rhodes flight is actually flown on a TOM A/C and the maximum of flights FCA fly out of CWL daily is 3 with some days there are only 2 flights. I'll have to dig a bit deeper to find out actually which of the above flights are TOM.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Must say it's nice to see the airports website actually advertising flights for the world cup match in nantes even if it is only on the Aer Arann, could this be a sign of lessons learnt from BRS?

It's a wonder that RE wouldn't put on any extra flights on match day's or are they too busy flying Sunderland fans from DUB to NCL?

There you are Andy, Well just have to wait

Fly for Beans
I am personally sick of the name, I am sick of deleting posts on the subject and I am sick of those who have a hidden agenda and are out to cause trouble.

So, this is what will happen. There will be no more questions or answers or posts concerning FFB unless and until they get an act together - in other words a fully effective AOC.

Then, and only then, can the subject be bought up like any other recognised airline.

Till then please refrain from making any comments about them. NO FFB posts!

I am hearing today that the new Germany/Italien company will commencing service to Cardiff in Spring 2008 with tickets coming to sale in Dezember of this year.

First routes I am told will be from CGN, FCO, MXP and Berlin (I do not know which airport).

This will be so good for me.

I wouldnt get youre hopes up on those routes really, the likley hood of all occuring is slim, Rome, would probably work for a LOCO, and thats about it. I think Frankfurst and Munich would probably more likley, nothing yet has materialised for Lufthansa supposed new regional UK routes.

Any new routes starting for next year will not beging to be announced until October at the earliest, with WW and TOM(Scheduled) realesing their schedules late November until December, probably in stages.

Not all doom and gloom as seen below, the gaps in TOMs schedule will eman BCN and JER will both be back next summer. Zoom will also be sending a flight soley from cardiff rather than via X.

On a lighter note, the airports next consultive meeting if anyone is intrested in going.

The next meeting of the Cardiff International Airport Consultative Committee will be held on Tuesday, October 23 at 1800 hours.
The meeting will take place in the Rhoose Room, on the 2nd Floor of the main terminal at the airport.
The meeting is open to attendance by members of the public, and there will be an opportunity after the main proceedings for questions from the floor.

There is a gap in the German market in the area since BACon left BRS but doubt it will be there for much longer. Maybe Cardiff have held off knowing BRS flights will be replaced soon.

Its nice to view the pint glass as always half full not empty, but maybe its just me but wouldnt it have been and ideal oppurtunity to get your foot in the market, come on its hardly as if its only been 2 weeks since the plugged BRS, its been months to get a new route(s) in and be known to business and travellers alike.

Maybe Cardiff tried but carriers realise there is the openings at BRS and would rather negotiate slots there due to the catchment.
