I heared a rumour yesterday that apparently there are to be new rules regarding Level 3 (Outsize Luggage drop off).

Staff will be subject to remove their shoes 100% and you will not be able to go Airside to Landside via Level 3. You have to either go through Central search, Turnstyle up by the security lodge or have to go via Baggage reclaim and ask them to open customs doors. Not sure if there is gunna be more change along with this.

I to have heard this rumour, but don't see the logic in coming into work through level 3, and out through central search, just seen on BRS thread that Thomson are doing the SFB flight out of Brs as of 09, will this be FCA a/c though, as the merger should have gone through by then.

Boyyoo,
Still FCA aircraft just Thomson hols sharing on it, although designator is TOM in brochures as the airlines will be fully merged in to 1 by then, the actual merger of the 2 companies First Choice Plc and Thomsons(tui uk) was done in September to create Tui Travel Plc, I guess the new merged airline will probabley be known as TUIFLY, thats the general feeling anyway.

Mathers....regarding Level 3, WTF! Can't say I'm suprised though, why not make life more difficult for ramp staff & crews...what on earth is the point in 100% shoes off, when I can go upstairs, get in the way of passengers and make the place look untidy, and not take my shoes off.

Madness once again, nice one CWL!.

Regarding the rumour on security searches, it has been said to me today that this was a rumour created by a member of security staff which recently left and is in fact a load of rubbish. However i think there are new scanners on the way though.

I know i'm jumping the gun and nothing has been announced or mentioned on here but did notice on either the airport timetable or the website that zoom fly to toronto vancouver and calgary. Again I stress this has not been anounced so was probably a typo. Who knows though maybe...one day

Any expansion from Zoom would come in the form of higher frequency, or year round flights.
In comparison. BFS has YYZ and YVR year round. MAN the same, and YYC from Dec-Apr which is nothing to shout about. And GLA has YYC/YHZ/YUL on top of YYZ/YVR.
Zoom have bigger fish to fry at the moment, and the main concentration is on ZoomUK(ZX) out of LGW
YYZ is much popular than YVR, there is a chance of a secondly weekly flight during the summer, and hopefully the 2 will eventually make year round flights, on a parr with BFS.

The long haul rumour surfacing again
In my opinion, if its not NYC or DXB then it will be quite a surprise!
(Unless TCX decide to pick up where TOM abandoned!)
Is this new route going to be a scheduled or charter service?

Again I stress this has not been anounced so was probably a typo. Who knows though maybe...one day
I noticed last year on the MYT route map, POP-CWL was shown, but CWL-POP wasn't. Unfortunately nothing surfaced. But as boyo says.. maybe...you never know!

Zoom now have an extra flight to YYZ from June until September

Therefore CWL will now have a weekly YVR flight plus x1 B757 to YYZ and x1 B767 to YYZ per week in peak season....................not bad !

Good enough competition to the BRS-YHM flight, not sure if this was the rumour or if something else is still out there.

Regarding Heineken Cup Final, Aer Lingus now planning x2 A330 flights subject to Munster or who ever qualifying. Just checked the FID's and see Servisair have entered in already

That's good, was this published on ZOOMs website? I remember years ago there were 2 flights a week to YYZ from CWL. Wardair was one and I think Worldways was the other. One was a 747 and the other a DC8 I think. I stand corrected if I'm wrong.

Em0866,
I know one of the flights was Wardair with a 747, not to sure about other flight, with regards to the long haul rumour, i've heard nothing on this, and like caaardiff said, if it's not NYC or DXB it would be a suprise, i also think that an all year round SFB would sell well, as the flights in the summer always sells well, does anyone else agree?

Not heared anything regarding longhaul, i know they are working hard to try and secure German and French routes from CWL. I wonder when the Flybe announcement will be?

How would NYC from CWL compare to the CO at BRS? Is there a real demand for DXB from CWL?

Long haul rumour may be a new operator to SFB since the MYT/TCX website does not show it operating next year. If this is true then we will only have the XL flight for the peak season - providing that is still happening next year.

That is a shame if true. They've been flying to Florida from CWL since Air Europe started it many years ago. In those days (I'm showing my age now) they were 757s and they flew to MCO with refuelling stop en-route in Bangor, Maine.

Arrivals Cashpoint

Are we going to get a cashpoint in arrivals again?
It was well used, and now sorely missed??
