Flybe figures

Loads should be pretty good seeing they were taken on a friday probably busiest day of the week. what are they like mid week, and has there been a noticeable change on the Baby domestic routes with regards to pax figures

So, what went on yesterday evening over by the tower? Was there a fire in the building? Seemed to be something going on...

Last Thursday's EDI-CWL figures were 14, 23 and 34.

No cashpoint?

The cashpoint in arrivals has vanished?
Was this broke or at end of lease/contract?
Has anyone found the new STOP barrier on the approach road difficult see at night? Could do with a red bulb and some fluorescent markings on it!

Thumbs down Cashpoints and barriers...

Cashpoint/Travelex out of contract.

Agree that the manual barrier for drop off is dangerous, mark my words, this summer it will be hit for sure. It has already ''bounced'' up and back down onto one bonnet, and on another occasion broke a security operatives finger. The bus lane barrier at front of terminal was knocked off by a bus within the first few days of operation - they need to be correctly lit and overall road lighting is poor.
This, again, is too apparent on the 2 zebra crossings.

Barrier on approach road

Yes, Mr. Gittins, do agree on that, I also had a car coming the wrong way round up approach road last week????
Really looking foward to queing from holiday inn roundabout/days inn/air BP in summer as to access the airport. Also, road markings have no Welsh translation too.
The yellow security (Fridge/freezer) box looks quite dated, i.e. cracked, sellotaped windows, and some green moss, litchen on it, it hasn't been there long. Still, it now has power and a heater ready for summer.
Welcome to the Pleasure Dome........

Hi, there was a problem with electrical equipment in the tower. ATC used the radio facility at the fire station for a bit. Nothing major though

An Aviance vehicle leaked fuel on Thursday night, happened between stands 12/13, maybe this is the cause for the camotion by the tower block??

Did the Aviance vehicle leak cause a fire? Noticed dark marks on the road that could been burn marks, but didnt get close enough to have a proper look

The tower incident was a computer that caught fire late Sat evening. Operations closed for an hour or so.

The overall layout of the front of the terminal is terrible and depressing. The lighting is poor, the new road layout is a confusing mess. Noticed a few cars entering the approach road from BAMC side, on the wrong side of the road, only to be turned around and directed the right way to get out!
Filtering cars before the terminal between drop offs (allowed) and pickups (prohibited) is going to be a nightmare during the summer at the busy times.

Also....seems the road 'HUMP' at the staff carpark has been shaved down, and repainted. Some good that did, its still a mountain and people are still scraping their cars...... Genius, CWL... Genius!!

Talk on other forums of the Summer 2009 charter program being released this week. Be interesting to see if TCX/TOM come up with anything new after their mergers.

No that was a seperate thing boyyo. The tower was evacuated and both Airport and South Wales fire services attended.

Unhappy drop off barrier...

Tonight, the manual drop off barrier has dropped off itself ! Absent ! Apparently fell off under its own weight ! We're back to the high-security cone again. Somebody advise Mr Duffy to go to Bristol to see their system and get CWL into the modern era.
Arrivals doors still broken, lift still broken, arrival toilets still rancid... we see this every day... why cant the powers that be see it too ?

The leak at the six pack was caused by a belt which road over a chock while it was pulling away from the aircraft. Snapped the steering collumn and leaked fluid over the stand.

Blimey, road humps, computer catches fire, arrival doors etc, and then mrgittins with the drop off barrier tale. This could be the draft script for a Carry On film.
Hilarious guys, not very amusing for you I don't suppose but it's made my day.

Gordon Iver, Sunday driver.

Great, stuck "behind Gordon Iver, Sunday driver" today, you know the chap, in his S reg Nissan Micra SPORT? with a yorhshire terrier loose on back parcel shelf and grand daughter in the front, eagarly driving at a steady 28.5 mph toward the airport in 4th gear!!! Careful though, he brakes for no reason, perhaps they seen a plane on approach or is confused and irritable at the new drop off/pick mess that greets him on the approach road. Still, he and family can enjoy parking illegally on the roundabout to watch planes, unaware of the 2 mile tail-back he has caused!!

New roads please

Trolleypushers...

What's happenned to the trolley pushing machines ? We saw some poor guy struggling to push 10/12 trolleys up the arrival ramp and try to negotiate the chicane at mid point, you know the bit where every other pax's luggage falls off. It was like a scene from Roman times - I hope GBM is watching as I would imagine a claim for back injury is not far off. Poor guys having to do that.
Dark Age Rule at CWL.

Very suprised that Thomsonfly are going to go backwards and only have a 2 x A/C base. especially after basing an extra 757 this year.

Surely a lot can change between now and 2009? Aviation is always changing.
Look at Zoom for example.757 only this year, then back to 767, no Vancouver, then Vancouver`s back on!
Lots can happen before 09
