Shaheen pax no.'s - Seems strange to me to get hung up on pax no.'s on first flight in any event. Normally these things have many seats allocated for PR & always some who like to do 'the first flight'. My view - patience & what is achieved in following weeks is what is really important.

LBIA's website currently shows that the first Shaheen is due to arrive almost one and a half hours late..........with all the pomp and ceremony that will likely be laid on for dignatories and the media at LBA, does anyone think it will depart before midnight?

Anybody any idea how the first flight went?.
I gather it landed on 14,as I never saw it on approach to 32.
Must have been quite a send off,it eventually left at 01:27,did it go nonstop?

Pilot made an excellent landing, touching down just beyond the 14 numbers. Speed brought back without too much fuss and rolled beyond Delta 1 fairly slowly, used the 'D' to turn round and back track. Vacated Delta, taxied Delta 2 where the ground crew did a check to see whether the tow bar fitted. It did and the aircraft continued to stand 9.
Aircraft is all white with blue billboardesgue Shaheen titles on either side of the forward fuselage.
Departure was late! Clearance [direct to ISB] at approx 0115. A 14 departure, temp 10 with a 'healthy' crosswind. Swift departure saw it rotate before the intersection with Delta. Seemed to be accomplished with ease.

I wasn't being funny, LBAlad; I'm just not comfortable imparting such info. If others wish to, that's up to them. The flight arrived and left about three and a half hours behind schedule (a.k.a 'late') due to all manner of factors inherent to new operators and inaugural services. The a/c was knocking on a bit and the stickers were peeling off the fuselage but it was tidy enough inside.
All in all, once the airline has got into the swing of things then there's no reason why the service should not be a success.

Eastern to INV
Not sure if it has been mentioned but Eastern's four times a week flight to Inverness 'seems' to have gone (after the winter).
Just seems to me that Eastern are fighting a loosing battle. As soon as a loco airline operates the same or similar route from an airport or nearby airport then some of Eastern's potential passengers will be lost. One or two lost passengers is all it takes to make the route unviable when large yield is required per passenger. Think T3 are pulling the Birmingham to Inverness service too, for the same reason. There are many other examples.
I maybe wrong but I cannot see how the airline can continue to grow using its current pricing model, when up against a certain airline that is rapidly adding efficient aircraft to operate a growing list of similar low cost routes. Any thoughts?
