Sounds like BHD are getting desperate what policy changes are going to happen down there, have the residents groups, local politicians the planners the EU view on 'city airport status' all changed their minds about BHD in the last 12 hrs. Yes right I think runway extension will happen next month, considering the cap still has not been lifted yet.

EI Schedules
Another forum has posted schedules, dates & destinations and they
are the ones already quoted which seem unbelievable. This is what
is reported
Aircraft 1 arrives 10/12/07
0616 to AMS back at BFS 1005 then out to BCN
10.50 and back 1650 (Geneva Tue & Sat) then
17.15 AMS back at 21.20
Where did they get that BCN slot from?
Aircraft 2 arrives 14/1/08 - 3 or 4 LHR's a day but 4 quoted in the post: -
0720 from BFS returning 1115 then
1210/1530 1615/1940 and 2030/2330 (great times)
EI Website shows 21 flights per week but no times but they are in the
CRS apparently
Aircraft 3 arrives 25/2 and it is M,W,F,Su Rome the other days FAO
it then turns around to do Budapest or Malaga (1530/2240
yes 4 sectors only for aircraft 3.
Anybody got any comments on this information? Is it correct and what
about the choices of destination and fairly low utilisation. I know the
utilisation is down to the type of destination served and the length of
sector but this schedule seems terrific for the aircraft (not too pushed)
but how about for making money?
I believe the BHX slots they applied for indicated perhaps 18 sectors a day
for the 3 aircraft which is not too dissimilar.

Aircraft 2 LHR - seems to be only doing 3 rotations as 21 per week. Is the aircraft sitting around BFS for several hours or will it be used to increase capacity on another route. Maybe it will fly to LHR for W pattern to DUB or something

EI offering some good fares to LHR, £60ish rtn, but also some extortionate fares, £1650 for 1 person rtn mid-march (ok, I know, St Patrick's day).
Great to see EI choosing BFS, hopefully we will see more new routes in the not-so-distant future, instead of competing directly with LS and U2.
The tele tonight mentioned a possible JFK route from as early as next spring!? If so that'd be great, EI's transatlantic fares can be brilliant value.
Best of luck to EI!

Where have the 8 EI slots a day at Heathrow actually come from ? Is there to be some reduction in the Dublin service or are routes like Shannon taking a real hit ?

Pricey!!!
Just checked prices for 16/17th February out of curiousity... and EI are charging £800 each way from BFS to LHR!!!
With prices like that the competion at BFS can relax a little!

When new flights get loaded into Aer Lingus' booking system they automatically get a ridiculously expensive price. After a few hours, the pricing logarithms are applied and the normal (reasonable) prices become apparent.

Well if someone has so much money that they'll dish out 1,650 pounds sterling to fly between Belfast and Heathrow then that doesn't bother Aer Lingus
The real prices will be online tomorrow. I don't think today's prices mean they'll have lost any customers. The routes have only been announced a few hours ago.

Never knew that the LHR flights were to work with BA codeshare!
This route may put alot of pressure of BMI, who cannot offer the array of connections through heathrow compared to BA.
The AMS is also sure to be a success with KLM connections. These are very wise moves by EI. I can see EZY being off the route by next summer.

This, hot on the heels of "pay for your baggage" is the beginning of the end for the big Orange parade in Belfast. Good luck to the Shamrocks, they deserve much success and support.

As all Amsterdam flights operate from BFS it gives you a choice to pick and choose between EI/EZY if you are going point to point which actually might work well. EZY probably could have easily doubled there AMS service if they could have been bothered (same for Paris) If you look at the stats for AM/BFS the one flight a day is almost full. So I wouldn't kick EZY out just yet. EZY might actually start expanding more from Belfast now try to put pressure on LS.

I would tend to agree that EZY will be off the AMS next summer. As for the rest, I'm not so sure. Nearly all EI's launch fares are dearer than EZY. I guess it will depend whether people realise that economy in EI is just the same low cost cabin as the rest..with one very nice exception...allocated seats.
You can also guarantee that there will not be 3 operators doing BCN next summer either. It's a pity they couldn't have been a little more original with the destinations. LHR, FCO, BUD all great. The rest I have my doubts about. Riga, Brussels, Warsaw, Madrid should've been fair game. The certainly have got balls starting multiple price wars in a new base in winter
