Jet2 seem to be hovering at the moment when it comes to NCL no ones really sure what there going to do. Winter Schedule is good but Tuesday and Wednesday are very Quiet today alone it was just the Gatwicks and the Cork with the 757s sitting there on the ramp.

well the 757s only do canaries now, and will do the KRK during Dec when it gets busy with people going to xmas markets.
We only need 1 757, the other was ment to go to BFS but they have taken a LBA based unit, but im sure the other one will go somewhere soon, if not its good for standby cover and when the other aircraft go off to LBA for MX!

757speed...not flown with u for a while! may see u soon, although i have been sentenced to winter on just the 737 for my sins!

With EZY gaining a load of additional slots at LGW, assuming the regulators green light the takeover, what chance of them starting a NCL LGW service in Autumn 08? They'd see jet2 off in weeks and they will have a network out of LGW to compete with BA.

Won't GB keep their own livery?

Be a shame to lose the original airline 'based on the rock' for something orange.

757-,

No, GB won't be keeping its own livery, the paint brush comes out from next spring.

Channex,

You made an interesting comment about being sentenced to winter on just the 737...

Are you normally dual rated on 737 and 757? ...and is that normal in the airline world?

JET2 I must say that I feel that there are some extremely blinkered postings being made on this thread re Jet2 & 'lack of' S08 expansion at NCL. Back to basics & JET2 are simply not meeting their financial targets with a recently published profits warning reflecting that although there was increased turnover, margins were down on projections. Add to this background their well documented proposals to exapand at LBA, and common sense indicates that something has to give. In the short term at least it would make more sense to review it's margins on it's current route network, rather than the more risky strategy of commencing too many new routes. On another tack this is probably one reason why they are not in any hurry to commence a NYC service out of NCL or anywhere else for that matter.

At the end of the day there's no point in expanding if there's reduced demand. Everyone here must of seen the recent price rises for everything.
With the knock on effect that the weekend brake abroad is out of reach or the second trip for a bit of sun.

GSM increase

someone on the GSM posts has said that GSM will have 6 flights per day from the UK out to YHM.
wounder if NCL will see this increase.
Would be great to see 2 or 3 flights per wk to YHM for summer 2008.

Maybe Air Canada will relook at NCL for flights to YYZ?

GSM

Most recent post I can see has us down for a weekly B.738 to YHM via KEF , although I see we've got Transat back next summer.

Can't see AC being interested - haven't they cut back/dropped MAN and GLA recently??

I think an A310 and a B738 will satisfy demand, AC wont realistically consider NCL.

Canadian Affair were using a TCX 757 this year, next year they'll be using a TSC A310. So not dropped, just replaced with a bigger aircraft.

Bigger a/c yes, but it operates inbound via Exeter, so more seats, who knows?
