Gsm @ Ncl

It does indeed state on Wikipedia that GSM will start a SFB service from NCL for Winter 07/08, beginning November 1st! If they do intend to start should flights not be on sale by now and marketing of the route should be well under way?

What a/c could potentially operate the route - a 737-800?

How are GSM and the YHM service doing at NCL? I know they have been delayed often, but are pax figures high?

skyman771 yes a 737-800 would hardly be a practical option, however they have been regularly using their 737 aircraft over the pond all year from MAN and GLA, so it is possible!!!!

Nothing has been confirmed by either NCL airport or GSM, the only reference to the route is made on Wikipedia, when you look at Newcastle Airport entry!

Holding overhead

Flying Dutchman - I held over NCL on 29th June. Something to do with a hole appearing in the ground near the runway. Had to wait until they filled it in.

EZY Practice runs

The EZY practice runs today were been done by am A319 not B737.

I thought the appearing hole problems had been sorted years ago. The airport used to suffer loads years ago something to do with underground mine workings from the old Pont pit I believe.

The EZY A319 was G-EZEB, it was flying over my house for much of the morning.

Ncl-sfb

I'm intrigued here - apart from positioning Geordies closer to the Equator what other advantages are there to considering SFB as an entry point to the US? Allegiant seems to be the only domestic carrier: they don't fly anywhere else in Florida, and they don't even fly to any of the immediately neighbouring states. And they don't fly anywhere which my admittedly ropey geography recognises as a major US hub.

There is only one reason you would go to SFB and its not to connect !

And to think...it all started with a Mouse

Gsm - Sfb

This rumour raises its head every now and again and has done so for a couple of years, it appears to have now been removed from Wikipedia again.

Given the current problems with GSM and their decision to cut the GLA - BOS, NOC - JFK and LPL - JFK for winter 2007 I would have thought it unlikely that a new route from them will commence from NCL thiswinter. Having said that at MME they are dropping down to 1 737 for the winter so a 737-800 which they use to SFB from GLA and BFS may well end up at NCL. I also believe these flights make a refuelling stop en-route at St Johns, Newfoundland which must put some folks off as it makes it a rather long flight (timewise).

Thanks

Guys, what you have to remember is that Wikipedia is so unreliable you'd be better off reading things from that certain other website that hosts a lot of aircraft pictures

Easyjet winter 07/08

Seems they are late releasing winter schedules from NCL this year. In past NCL is first of bases to be on sale. Wonder why the delay. I think all other uk bases now on sale.

Yes it would be nice if EZY actually started to base the A319s at NCL rather than just test flight them.

I believe the reason why EZY have not released the winter programme is, remember last year we were first, is according to teh rumour I heard that they may be dropping a domestic route and starting a new one. I know its been mentioned before but as every airline seems to have fallen out of love with Stanstead lately could it be they are moving the Stansted routes to Luton?

Not sure what anyone else thinks, I can't think any other domestic routes a possibility from EZY.
