Drop off and Pick up Myself & others have made comment over the past few months on the short term parking issues. It was quite clear that it was not working even before S07 commenced. The worrying thing is that anyone with 'even half a brain' could see the problems & additional issues caused by moving around a few kirbstones & placing some new signage on the existing space outwieghed those existing at that time. I didn't see the news atricle & am unaware as to what is now to be done, but unless the two main issues a) removal of exclusive access to terminal drop off to certain taxis, and b) an increase in physical area available are addressed, then any changes are unlikely to have any significant effect.

There's certainly been a huge increase in the the use of 'unofficial' parking/waiting places all around the airport this summer, so something isn't working properly...

Might have something to do about the uncertainties, when meeting arriving passengers, of how long it will take from aircraft arrival to appearing from the arrivals hall. By the time they have waited for busses, been help in a lengthy Immigration queue, waited for the undermanned ground teams to deliver their bags and then fight their way out through the 'doors from hell'. If you park up just after aircraft arrival you will need a large balance on your credit card to get your car out of the car park.

My other half always waits in the lay-by or somewhere within 5 minutes until I call to say I'm clear of arrivals.

There is a 747-300 due in around 7pm local from madrid using a monarch callsign. Doesn't appear to be going back out again tonight, so it may be that.

EasyJet and Flybe have started releasing their Winter schedules so shouldn't be too long to wait.

Hope we might get some interesting long haul destinations from Jet 2 in view of what was said in their Annual Report

Advertisement from easyJet today in the Evening Chronicle saying

''New planes
Newcastle
easyJet planes are on average just over 2 years old.
Jet2's are over 18! (They could even vote and get married)''

Are easyJet due to start adding the A319 at Newcastle soon then?

Tonker.
I think you will find that a Mr D Laws is acting CEO at this time.
He will delegate the reply but at least you will get your complaint into the system.

The 747-300 EC-IOO should arrive back at Newcastle around 5am from POP then it should be due out to SFB at 8am.

It gets no better. Jet 2 flight to Palma delayed 5 hours, Jet2 to Malaga delayed 3 hours, Jet2 to Cork delayed 2 hours 20mins. Then there are delays to EZY, XLA, EI, and TCX as well.

And what has happened to the Jet2 arrival from Tenerife? Delayed 17 hours provisionally.

I'm dreading flying this time next week.

ash666 this post is becoming boring ! credit that you have demonstrated that you can read the official NCL arrivals board, but what is your point?, other than your self expressed concern that you may be delayed on a flight next week. Clearly there is more than one Loco suffering, & in the end one way or another you'll get what you paid for.

The point is that the whole situation is getting worse.
Are you saying that if we book cheap flights then we have to accept endless delays and not complain?
Maybe I just regret being born so close the the worst airport I know with airlines that don't seem at all concerned about giving a decent service.

Sorry guys but im with skyman777 this is getting boring now.
Everyday i check this tread and it's all about which flight is delayed today and why and its getting worse and the airport cant handle anymore and its all getting worse and not better

The point is that all airlines and all airports have delays. Yes some are longer than others and some do make the papers.

I bet if we check the arrivals and departures boards at LHR we could see well over 50 delays everyday but there isn't someone on pprune listing these delays daily!!

Lets get back to normal now
1, Whats the latest rumours
2, What we got to look forward to

Here it goes

Any more news on those 3 new routes with AB?
Anybody shed any light on winter plans of easyjet and jet2 and flybe

Lets look forward to our 1st EK flight not long now and dont forget next summer with TOM new long haul flights!!!!!!!!

Well said HH6702, I'm sure every Arrivals and Departures board contains its share of delayed (and cancelled) flights.

Most days the board at NCL is packed with flights arriving and departing within 15 mins of their scheduled time, some even arriving early.

Lets get down to rumours of whats to come this winter and next summer.

Easyjet advert

I'm surprised that Jet2 haven't had some fun with this - if over 18's can vote and get wed, what's the average 2 year old capable of??

The ad is also 'slightly' misleading as to the average age of the EZY fleet based at NCL, and was that orange 737 parked on the remotes yesterday down to bad karma??

Oh, ash666 if NCL is the worst airport you know, you really need to get out more...
