'Flybe can count themselves lucky that 99% of their pax don't surf this forum. Some of the heated exchanges aired here by supposedly mature airline professionals has convinced ME to keep well clear of this airline for some time to come'.

I am booked to travel with Flybe twice within the next four weeks. One single journey from BHD to CDG (surprise weekend for my wife who will be celebrating her birthday at the time) returning with easyJet to BFS. The other is a round trip BHD to MAN for a family visit. I really want my wife to have a good weekend - she's had a lot of family problems this year. All this talk about Flybe has alarmed me slightly. I want everything to go according to plan. Have there been any major delays with the BHD to CDG service?

The Man-Cdg service has been very good maily becasue of one or two a/c they have been using to do the flight (146-3/2)

An engine problem with one, and cabin issues with the other. Always seem to be the CDG or BRU routes that get it in the neck in Man.

BHD route seems to run very well though.

to be honest the BHD - CDG route is pretty safe from cancellations at the minute. They seem to prefer it to run and cancel others, as they are easier to cover with different routings or later flights. It does however seem to be pot luck as to which aircraft type does the flight.

Good luck and good trip!

If your on board a British Airways A/C or an Air Wales A/C then don't be alarmed then you will be on the correct flight.

I can only think of once the BHD - CDG service has been cancelled and that was mainly to a 3 hour slot at CWL.

*** Please be advised that the a/c stops in CWL en-route to CDG and is on the ground for 25 minutes. You will not have to disembark the a/c but don't be suprised if the A/C picks up a slot at CWL. ***

Can anyone let me know how the BHD - CDG is doing? I would have thought that it would have been very off putting for passengers to interline through CWL but if you are only on the ground for 25 minutes, it doesn't seem to bad. Is the time on the ground the same on the return leg? If it is it would suit me better than Easy from BFS.

Belboy

On the return leg all pax have to disembark to go through immigration as CWL is the first point of entry into the UK.
Hold ups have occured if they decide to question an ongoing pax.

Angel Time Keeping?

A good one is it not on Flybe we have about nine differant Dash 8 400s in on a Saturday and by the schedule times and the actual times it tell a story any way (Not being able to hold the schedule) Althought one Dash 8 400 did Jersey-Liverpool-Jersey in 2hours and 25minutes round trip must have had a good crew and kicked some backsides to do in in the time

Ever heard of ATC slot restrictions? Almost impossible to get in and out of those God-forsaken rocks near France without them in the summer. Please feel free to explain how that can be blamed on an airline.

Disruption in Operations

the other day i was flying from BHD to BHX and my flight got cancelled. in fact i noticed on the notice board a list of cancelled and delayed flights.

friends who have tried to fly from SOU told me they had cancellation problems with FlyBE too, not necessarily on the same day, causing a lot of frustration down in the south.

is there something wrong with their ops lately?

Yes. Take a look at some of the earlier postings within this thread and you'll get a pretty good idea.

what a mess... running out of crew in the middle of the busiest season... is this problem then still the case? when do they think it will be resolved by?

are there still cancellations on the day? or have all the flights with no crew been taken off sale?

i wouldnt want to book with them if i am going to be cancelled again...

They are new connections through Southampton and Gatwick similar to what already occurs on routes to Newcastle and Glasgow. More travel options for Islanders, which is beneficial.

New Routes

You can hardly call Dublin, Leeds and Inverness new routes as such as you have to travel via an intermediate destination, basically all they are doing is allowing passengers to connect through at ridiculously high prices, also on those connnecting flights it means Flybe are even more likely to lose your bags! Flybe will hardly do well competeing against Aer Lingus on the JER-DUB, at least Aer Lingus flies direct!

What Guernsey and Jersey really need is direct services. Maybe not to all three of those destinations, but Leeds and possibly Dublin would work.

Another a/c leased to cover the shortfall, An ATR72 from Interstate Airlines, will be running some routes.

So as far as im aware thats 3 different company's helping out flybe because of there crewing problems. I guess with the summer starting to hit them, its going to be long and hard one.

This afternoon Guernsey-Gatwick service was operated by Titan B737 but only to Bournemouth then bus the pax the rest of the way to Gatwick. I can see pax starting to get fed up with Flymaybe.
I know most airlines had problems today with slots due weather but aleast all leaving the Channel Islands most made there destinations but a bit late.
