just checked winter prices on the DUS-MAN-DUS route.
Flybe: 119€ without bags and LH 83€ (if booked with expedia.fr or expedia.es, where there are no TSC).
So, what would I prefer?

Pizzaro

On average I would say five aircraft parked up.

I have seen 3 x DH4's, 2 x 145's or 3 x DH4, 1 x 146 and 1 x 145.

The 15 reported yesterday was mentioned on another forum and no
breakdown was given between aircraft on turnaround and ones shut up.

G-JECY the latest DH4 has been parked up since delivery according to
one report.

I agree with you sentiments re the prices. Paris, Milan in March 2008
is roughly the same as BACON charged up to about 10 weeks prior to
departure on such services but the same could be said for Glasgow & EDI before the merger, BA's & BE's base fare were very similar.

I trust Baby & such are cleaning up but with competition on most routes
the CAA Stats can't distinguish the breakdown to give a good enough idea of how things are going.

EXT-GCI (and the rest of the rotation)joined the ist of cancelled flights yesterday... reason given was "aircraft went tech in Paris".

Somehow I don't believe a word of it.

There was then the most godawful cock-up about ordering a bus to go to SOU, to connect the SOU-GCI service at 1055.

Bus eventually left at 0830 or so, delaying the SOU-GCI by about 50 minutes.

The whole episode was enlivened by the lack of information given to the customer-facing staff at EXT and SOU, so that they gave passengers increasingly desperate untruths, eg "The bus will definitely be here at 0700/0725/0800" (EXT), and at SOU "It only takes 2 hours for a bus to get from Exeter to here" and "The flight will be on time" - that last one 5 minutes before STD.

My impression is that Flybe is in some kind of melt-down due to their inability to take on the BACON operation administratively or operationally.

A breathless email today:-
New Loyalty Scheme for our best customers!

Dear PaxBoy
As one of our most valued customers, we like to keep you informed about
our services. And we?ve got some great news! Our brand new loyalty
scheme - *Rewards 4All* - launches soon and as we know you fly with us
regularly, so you can start benefiting right now *by earning Bonus
Reward points to get you off to a good start.

With *Rewards 4all*, you?ll earn more points than ever. It doesn?t
matter if you?re flying on a standard Economy ticket or Flybe Economy
Plus, whether it?s a business trip or a leisure break. Whenever you fly
and whatever seat you buy, you?ll earn points. On top of that, it?s
quick and easy to use ? and simple to redeem them to. What?s more,
*Rewards 4all* members will have the opportunity to redeem exclusive VIP
airport lounge access for a year.

I like the way they call me a most valued customer, when I have only taken two sectors with them. Sounds like they are desperate or they didn't want to spend the time on doing a proper assessment of the data.

*Earning Rewards 4all points*
1 one-way Economy Flight = 1 Reward point
1 one-way Economy Plus Flight = 2 Reward points
1 return Economy Flight = 2 Reward points
1 return Economy Plus Flight = 4 Reward points

*Spending Rewards 4all points*
16 Reward points = 1 return UK Economy flight
20 Reward points = 1 year executive lounge access
22 Reward points = 1 return UK Economy Plus flight
24 Reward points = 1 return European Economy flight
30 Reward points = 1 return European Economy Plus flight

At the current rate, that means two and a third years of trips (3 trips a year) to get one freebie. Sounds like a bargain to me.

Looking at Flybes' website today noticed a few changes - the flight information page has mysteriously disappeared after only a few months as well as the monthly punctuality statistics, wonder why?

Maybe because they know they are getting a ridiculousy crap airline with stupid charges, terrible punctuality and even worse service. Perhaps they don't want to add fuel to the fire

i think that Flybe will eventually leave Norwich from what i have read here, http://www.uk-airport-news.info/norw...ews-190707.htm

I don't believe what Flybe say but have to believe what the manager of Norwich Airport says, they just can't compete, and im not sure they ever will be able to.

Tbh FlyBe have axed alot of routes for the Winter, probably nwi just not happy about it.

The thing is will they bring the routes back for the Summer 08 or they going to find better route to put the Q4's on?

Nwi is always quite full in/out of Man.

tbh when i have been to NWI collecting people from there this summer, i have seen that alot of there flights are pretty full.

Altough i still think they struggle a bit on ALC/AGP because other operaters out of stansted have better prices and operate much more frequently.

I understand that the 5th Embraer 195 - G-FBEE - is due for delivery to Exeter on Saturday afternoon (28th June).

Perhaps this will see the end of the leased aircraft in the Flybe fleet at Exeter? Currently the Flightline/VLM B462 G-BPNT has replaced the European Aviation B732.

It`ll be a shame to see some of these chartered in aircraft go as at the moment at Bhd Flybe`s two most reliable aircraft are a Fokker 50 and an ATR !!

Flybe have just announced a codeshare agreement with Brussels Airlines. Never saw that one coming.

It says that they offer a 2x daily flight from Bristol, I thought they did about 4/5 a day, what happened?

I was having a browse through the site and came across this in the Fly Be Cabin Crew forum.

http://www.jethros.i12.com/fleets/fl..._cityflyer.htm

Any ideas what's going on. Are Fly Be taking over leases from BAE, are the aircraft about to go to Fly Be or are some spotters getting over excited.

Thoughts ?

These aircraft will have been on Bacon leases and as Bacon is now owned by FlyBe they will be sub-leased back to BA Citiflyer.
Or?????

CFE

Flew BHX-EDI on 1/8 & EDI-BHX 2/8 and there was a BA RJ100 parked
on the western apron both days.

Also impressed with flybe no Dash 8's parked up on the Wednesday, just
4 x 145's (2 by the hangars) and 2 146's.

However I flew Baby and arrived back 35 minutes early last night, last
flybe was delayed.

Also had a passenger survey from flybe, needless to say I let rip.

oltonpete, you not think these aircraft might be parked for a reason, or do you want to fly on a broken aircraft?

If all ex BA pax want to carry on flying on old and broken aircraft then its a shame they are not going anymore, however if you want to fly on a new fleet, then stay with Flybe.

When did BA last invest on its short haulf fleet?

sick off hearing 'it was never like this with BA'
As an ex-BA member leaned over and said to a pax last week, yes it was!

And i dont work for Flybe, before you ask.
