I'd assume place like Bergerac may go for the winter. Great news on BHD though would have liked more than 1 daily flight, enables me to get home for free easier than trapsing thru Dublin and coaching it up to Belfast.

Tenerife was a surprise to me though.

Great news for the airport witht the new desternations from ryanair, might be using the new belfast flight next spring as its a cheaper option to bmibaby.

Could just mean they have to make some changes to the schedule. They often just load the schedules from the previous Winter/Summer and then change them afterwards.

FR impact on charter markets in the Midlands

The latest news about FR expansion onto more leisure routes must be making some operators think twice about the midlands now.

Look at TOM capacity in this region with EMA / BHX and CVT. Seems like some a riskey place to have all those aircraft.

Has the team at EMA set the stall out to say farewell to the charter volumes?

FAO dumdumbrain

I heard a little rumour that you were posting on pprune during a turn? Would that be right or is my informer talking garbage??

Bring on the competition on the BFS // BHD route with FR .... With the 1p fares competition will be fierce and we are yet to win a battle against FR (lost the DUB battle) but it will be interesting with only FR doing a daily flight to the city...

Can both airlines survive on the route? Who knows.... I guess time will tell!!!

Come on baby!!!

Durring a turning, now come on baby, i know are a/c often come in on time and early as a standard but i aint got time for posting on here on a turn around. Yeh Belfast, might only be once a day, im sure Ryanair will wipe the floor with any of the other airline when it comes to what a pax need and want.

Cheap Flight

One time (i know some airlines dont seem to understand this)

Good level of service (and before you say anything 52million pax)

And while were on the subject of fights,, who has the most pax numbers at EMA now in less than 3 years? And it's not just Baby we have took on, also GB Airways with the TFS.

Baby watch out for PIk, ALC don't want you to lose out on any more routes.

All in all, i think the new routes will be good for EMA, all year round sun and cheap flights to TFS, yet another Polish route.

Lee,

Ryanair arent competing with GB any more. They wont be back for the winter season, and with 5 flights a week with Thomsonfly Scheduled and the 1 weekly flights with First Choice, Mytravel and Thomas Cook with a possable XL.com flight also, thats going to be a serious competition route with nearly 14 flights per week. Will Ryanair suffer???? i doubt it. They are strong and cheap so doubt it. I have booked myself and partner to Tenerife and booking a flight and hotel seperate, its costing me £98 Half Board inc flights stopping at the Noelia Sur in Las Americas. No tour operator can compete with thos fares. Thomson for same hotel asking for £400 for the same week.

Regards

Stu

TFS

Stu,

Its a shame GB isn't coming back, was nice while it lasted, yeh i agree Ryanair will sell its seats easy, only twice a week at the moment, but once people see Ryanair is flying to TFS im sure most will start using us.

Many will be second home owners, you could pay more wilth thomson etc, but if you have a second home, would you rather pay more and visit your villa 2/3 times a winter or pay alot less with Ryanair and visit 4/6 times a winter?

I would expect it to change from twice a week to 3/4 times a week once the pax numbers pick up.

What this space for more sun routes........

Glad you've already booked yourself up stu, let me know the dates nearer the time and I will sort you both out from pre-boarding p.s. if you want the discount code for the baby hotels page let me know.

The TFS will be very popular just looked up thomsonflys lowest fare which is £144 return and ryanairs lowest fare is £50 return! i know who i would go with, Ryanair! Should be a good winter for the airport with all the new routes.

TFS

Acutally if you book today the lowest fare I found was 2p return including tax.

See some airlines thinks EMA is worth the effort and money to expand and take the risk.... and im sure the new routes will do very well.

The only reason people fly with Ryanair is because of the low fares.... Im sure that the FR yield on erach flight isnt that high compared to baby....

People do not fly with FR for the customer service, everyone knows that! However, with cheap fares and quite good punctuality people will fly again...

Bring on the competition.....

Lee, have you read ur PM's???? can u forward me the code.

One of my close friends from Malaysia is coming over for business and asked me for the best way to fly into EMA. I said fly Malaysian or KLM to AMS then bmibaby to EMA. he said cant he just connect thru??? i said i wish. Another sign we need a hub carrier in at the airport soon. If KLM offered a twice daily rotation with a F100 or 737, i still dont think it would take too much business off baby, due to the onwards connections. If people want to just go to Amsterdam, they would continue to use bmibaby, while going further afield usd KLM.

Your thoughts????

Grrr

I have always found the Ryanair experience most pleasing considering how much more the alternatives can cost in comparison?

Yeah... I agree a 4 hr 15mins flight to Tenerife with Ryanair might become a nightmare for passengers that are used to inflight entertainment and meals ect.. like you get on Thomsonfly.

But at the end of the day its offering cheaper flights so more people are bound to use them because its so cheap, yes the B738 is quite cramped for that long, im surprised how Thomsonfly are using them from Luton - Tel Aviv. they are quite cramped.

Im sure Ryanair being as they are will pull through with the charter airline, they do offer a good service but compared to a full board charter airline just wont beable to compete to there level...

Im sure it will be a 2nd class service though =]

Ryanair are obviously doing something right, which I assume is offering what the customer wants ie cheap flights that are on time.

Personally anything much over 2 hours seems a bit much to me on a FR 738 however I suspect the majority will be swayed by the cost and I'm sure the TFS frequency will be increased.

KLM coming back - I wish! Used to be a great option to go via AMS to virtually anywhere.

I personally wouldn't have any problem flying with FR on its longer sectors, i.e. to TFS/FUE. In fact, I'll try to have a wee daytrip (!) at some point, perhaps next year, to the Canaries. I could, for example, fly DUB-TFS-EMA-DUB in one day. And I could hopefully get it for less than £50 all-in. Perhaps.

DUB-TFS: 0600-1120
TFS-EMA: 1320-1630
EMA-DUB: 2020-2120

Hmm.

Anyway, I'll be living near EMA next year.
