Passenger Numbers Rise For Sixth Consecutive Month

"Passenger Numbers Rise For Sixth Consecutive Month", not bad at all! I wonder how much of the growth comes from Ryanair?

I noticed domestic travel as down even with Ryanairs new routes of LDY and INV, does that mean babys domestic are not doing too great?

36,000 to PMI, isn't it about time we had an airline flying year round to PMI? A fair few of these must has second homes and would jump at the chance of a cheap flight.

Anyone know when the tickets and flights start for UKIA?

Used my local airport on Friday night and it was a shambles. Everything delayed ,Baby delays averaging 3 hours plus. Loud music everywhere, what a mess. OK the weather was bad but Baby seemed to be having lots of technical delays.

I have to admit im not a fan of baby at all, but on friday every airline had a few problem not just baby. Baby has a large loyal fan base, but I dont see them putting up with these long delays, its most days now.

One thing I noticed was the massive que for security in the afternoon, it puts people off, also the amount of time people have to wait to check in, saying that, you dont normally have to wait for more than 5 mins to check in with Ryanair well (nice checkin staff aswell).

I just wish Ryanair would give EMA a new a/c and routes soon, maybe in the spring.

Don't get me wrong I'm not bmibaby's biggest fan and I work for them, but could certain members please not use this post to wax lyrical about their own employers and pour scorn on everybody else. bmibaby had some horrendous delays on Friday, and all of us in the already under-staffed ground services division pulled together to do an excellent job in handling the various issues that came up. Although queues for check-in look long, when all the desks are open people aren't queuing for a long time, as we process people speedily but professionally. Unlike Ryanair, we don't use a handling agent we pay pennies to to open two desks for each flight. Technical problems happen, combined with slot restrictions and weather issues it can cause the kind of delays we've been seeing recently. The 737-500s and older -300s are out this winter to be replaced by more -300s, but there are plenty of rumours about new aircraft orders and possible new routes, including for EMA. Ryanair is excellent at what they do - they get people from A to B very cheaply on rarely delayed or cancelled services, but they are not the be all and end all of aviation, and certainly have a lot to answer for for some of their treatment of pax.

Again, please don't see this as me sticking up for bmibaby, as I have no particular incentive to do so, but a balanced argument rather than hysterical flag waving is really needed in this post.

Also bmibaby does fly to PMI year round, it's daily in the summer, but only three times a week in the winter as it's incredibly seasonal. I think Thomsonfly might do the odd weekly flight as well.

Oh I didn't know Baby did PMI year round, cheers for that. Yeh I know what you mean I went in to departures the other day, and I did feel sorry for the Baby staff, all working so hard. Actually one of them at the boarding gate was really nice, looks really friendly.

Ryanair is starting to look after pax better (not that its ever bee that bad), I know of staff who have been sacked for being rude to pax. It don't really matter if you pay 1p or £199 you still get treated the same with us. When I did my training we spent alot of time learning how to deal with pax, if I saw another crew member being rude I would tell them to .

Also the media does seem to have it in for Ryanair, or maybe its just the shock to some people who have always travelled with a full service carrier before (and paid way over the odds for a seat), however pax will always vote with bookings, 52 million is not bad.

Lee,

how come you said "maybe next spring" with regard to new FR EMA a/c and routes? I thought only recently you were predicting that FR would be basing 2 new aircraft here within a few months?? Has something changed?

Thank you egnxema, I don't know what to say really without saying too much. It might happen I don't know, all I can say is look at the order books from boeing and then look on the Ryanair website on how many a/c are to be based at other bases.........

It was a genuine enquiry as to the change in information. I think rumours, by their very definition, are liable to change.

Passenger Numbers Rise For Sixth Consecutive Month

I wonder how much of the growth comes from Ryanair?
In June 2007, total passenger numbers for EMA increased by about 40,000 over June 2006.

FR's passenger numbers at EMA increased by about 60,000 compared to June 2006. So FR provided all of EMA's growth in June. By my reckoning, the airline now accounts for about 45% of EMA's scheduled traffic. Pretty impressive considering that FR services to EMA only began 3 years ago.

bmia330 - reading dumdumbrain's posts - i think we're all aware he's away with the Fairies at times!! - contradiction and havin pops at 'baby' are his middle names - will wait for the toys to come out the pram again soon!

any news on the pink panther - UKIA - yet another month is drawing to a close -I too hope it finally gets goin - will be intresting to see if the predicted market for the routes do actually materialise.

Ryanair's growth is magnificant and testiment to their publicity band wagon and marketing stategies - there growth can only be good for EMA

Actually I was flying today EMA-NTE-EMA-SXF-EMA, got in alomost 20 min ealry.

I would comment further about how people need to grow up, and not make personal comments, but unlike some im actually a professional, actually bmia300 id rather you say things to myface if your going to call me, you seem to have seen me a few times at the airport.

New Polish destination from EMA: Poznan. EMA-POZ by Ryanair starting on 8th of November. Nice, worth seeing tourist-friendly city in western part of the country, half-way between Warsaw and Berlin.

EMA - Tenerife South

now i wasn't expecting that, so does that mean thats the last we will see of GB? Think I might book myself on that for some winter sun. Makes you wonder how long it will be till Ryanair starts to add more sun routes to main airports like STN and LVP, such as PMI and ALC.

I think just the normal a few french routes, you might of noticed this week, that the LDY flights have been reduced, for a NTE hence the Berlin flight being about an hour later.
