The Autair one was the rounded roof blue bell hangar? No this is the much bigger green hangar that butted up to the former flying club. Think the last user was Metro and the first user was McAlpines.
The tin roof has gone just leaving the steel framework. The side walls are still in place.

Luton Airport 'wants 30 million passengers a year
BBC News - Luton Airport 'wants 30 million passengers a year'
Passenger numbers at Luton Airport could nearly treble, to 30 million a year, under new proposals.
Owner London Luton Airport Ltd is in talks with the Planning Inspectorate about increasing passenger numbers from its current annual 11.5 million.
It already has plans, revealed in January, to increase footfall to 18 million passengers a year.
The new proposal has been criticised by Hertfordshire County Council. The airport's owner has not yet commented.
The proposals were revealed by the council after the figure was mentioned in discussions between the owner and the Planning Inspectorate.
The new application is set to be submitted in 2013.
Robert Gordon, leader of the county council, said: "I am stunned by this news.
"Local authorities and communities alike are worried at the speed with which even the current proposals to expand capacity up to 18 million people per annum are being progressed, but have engaged in the consultations and await any planning application in good faith.
"Make no mistake, this is a huge expansion proposal and represents a throughput not significantly different from that currently experienced at London Gatwick and 10 million people per annum more than currently experienced at London Stansted."
A spokesman for the Planning Inspectorate told the BBC that the figure of 30 million had been put forward in discussion with the airport's owner
He said the application for 30 million passengers was not being put in until the third or fourth quarter of 2013.
London Luton Airport Limited said it would be issuing a statement.

Nafta, I had forgotten that! I do remember at one point it was the cheapest petrol around but that was well before Asda & Tesco.
Them's were they days, an hour in one of the clubs C152's and fill up your car for under £30!

Haha wow.. The time was like 1993/1994 for me not as far back as some here I guess, Thats when I was small and big into the planes. Would spend every weekend sitting in the spectators building nom noming on a ham and cheese toastie. Knowing nothing would really turn up but the variation of airliners far outweighed what you see there today.
No more IL76, DO228, C130, ATP's, DC8, L1011 ... meh. Wish I was older and had a better camera back then!
Anyone know if anything is coming into LTN for the England - Belgium match at Wembley on the 1st?

Aerial shot is probably 1982 or 1983, G-BRED CL-44 and an Air Bridge Vanguard plus a Dan Air 1-11. I used to drink in the Flying Club bar with the based crews that Dan Air had then at Luton. I did a Twentys holiday to Ibiza in May 82 flying on G-BDAS both ways.
That garage fixed my HC Viva when it broke down at the airport, then became one of the first Q8 petrol stations.

A cropped verson of the aerial shot showing the Redcoat and Airbridge appears in the commemorative handbook of the opening of the new terminal which is dated July 1985.
Anyone remember the yellow and green decor of the terminal in the 1980's, the yellow 4 sided telephone booths, The Navigators Bar complete with fountain, The Flight Path food area and if you had the time the Little Chef.
