....in Palma. Good loads thou, both seemed full.
Considering it was the end of the school half term week, then it would indeed be a bad job if they weren't so I wouldn't read too much into this.
Just a reminder to some who post on this thread, it's the yields as much as the loads that matter on the services recently discussed. As pointed out by one person, the cost of many seats on the CIA flights were severly discounted in order to fill the aircraft. The authorities at CIA introduced a policy of limiting the number of flights operated out of this airport due to ATC considerations and as such this focused the Loco's attentions on getting the best yields they could out of the slots that they had available & as such I presume DTV were well down the list

GSM always lease off there 763's during winter months becuase it brings in much more money than they would make operating there own services the 752 covers SFB W08.

During the summer there is always 1 763 away while 2 come back for S08 long-haul schedule. Just so happens there also leasing off a 738 to Oman Air for this S08 & W08.

There selling off the 733's & 736's end of the year to be replaced by 7NG'S and 738's through the ILFC most likely i would guess MME would get a 7NG with 738's in GLA with 1 or 2 in EDI but mostly would have 7NG's.

Keep telling the wife I'm going to get her on Mastermind, specialist subject 'the bleeding obvious'

I watched a couple of 737s in PMI loading for MME the other day, and I estimate good yield for both!

It's the annual Lourdes charter - they don't send jumbos anymore, now we get two mid-sized jets. There was also an Air Mediterranee A321 running it as well.

clamping

The way things are going by the end of October there will only be managers cars parked at the airport. No staff and certainly no passengers.
Unfortunately the future is even bleaker next year when fuel prices filter through. Now is the time to sell to Tesco before it becomes a fire sale I fear.

At least we'll be getting some new arrivals if all works out well.
I believe we may be seeing a number of Hawks in Hangar 2 with increased activity from FRA

Bit ironic ? trend heading more military than civil.... Now wasn't there once in the early 60's an RAF arifield somewhere around here called Middleton St George....?
Hmmm....I see that the 'girls' are doing a great job 'NOT !'.

Non Civilian Traffic

Perhaps the Management know something we don't when they predict growth for Teesside. More training flights by FRA , a new Police helicopter , air Ambulance , more trooping flights and perhaps a squadron of Typhoons and call us Dishforth North. After all whats in a name when it comes to Peel Holdings..
P.S. Peel Holdings are whingeing (is that how you spell it?) about the proposed congestion charging in Manchester because they own the Trafford Centre. I don't really have to say any more really do I ?.

Well at least that one issue they don't need to concern themselves about at DTV !

congestion charging

Yes it's true that there is little trafffic congestion at the moment but when you look at the cachment area for the airport and then transfer the option to a shopping centre like the Trafford Centre you can see why Peel were so keen on the Council to construct a new junction for access off the A66.

paarmo don't see where you are going on this tack. Has this really anything to do with future investment in DTV?, the creation of an access junction at a third party's expense obviously increases the value of the site what ever it's future use.

Where do you make most money? a third tier airport rapidly downgrading to an airstrip or a huge out of town shopping centre with free parking ,excellent road access with the cachment area including Teesside, Wearside, County Durham and the top end of North Yokshire. I know where my money would go.

Unhappy Income...??

Secondly, and I'm not sure I should be revealing this, the airshow traffic will be at MME this year - Northern Aviation have agreed to handle them. I'm not sure of the exact circumstances, but I think the airport itself said no, and Northern Aviation said that's not acceptable - we'll look after them.

As you were wrong again DTV...how much revenue will the airport miss out on this year as a result of the traffic all going up the road?
these really are hard times and the winter programme looks especially bleak? Gerona gone possibly for good and Wizz next me thinks..??

What do you mean wrong again? The airshow traffic will be at Durham Tees Valley from Friday 25th July through to Monday 28th, I will now do some digging to make sure this is still the case, but I'm fairly sure it will be. NCL will probably get the Red Arrows as usual, but that's it.

China boost for airport

From the Evening Gazette 11 June

DURHAM Tees Valley Airport has welcomed plans by Virgin Atlantic to double the number of flights between Heathrow and Hong Kong to twice a day. The airport said it hoped to capitalise on “a considerable market” between North-east England and China. A spokesperson said: “Anything that offers customers greater flexibility is welcome and already in some cases it is possible for passengers flying from Durham Tees Valley to be ‘checked through’ on to Virgin services”.

That's funny because we have all been told officially that we are getting most if not all the airshow traffic!! Plans are already well under way to ensure we can comfortably accomodate the extra traffic.

Sorry
