Some good news FR will also resume:

Ibiza, Murcia, Pisa will all restart at the end of March. Not bookable but show as operating and are in the New Routes area.

Most likely not as they are closing down over the next few days. Perhaps Cyprus Airways may takeover some of the routes, but to be honest I feel our own charter airlines will fill the gaps.

Bournemouth is "Dead" commercially!
I checked out telextext over the past week or so and it shows no flights into the airport on several days. In fact a source has told me that the terminal is actually closed on some days as it isn't worth opening! Some return for the 45 million invested in the airport! Manchester Airport Group have wasted a fortune at Bournemouth!
I wouldn't mind betting that the airport has already passed it's "low cost" heyday and that it's all downhill now!
There are over 60 arrivals into Southampton a day and the airport offers everything from regional domestic to European capitals to the same leisure routes such as Alicante, Faro and Malaga etc that is supposedly Bournemouth's main source of income!
MAG need to face up to the fact that most have tried and failed at Bournemouth!

Are Thomas Cook basing an aircraft at BOH next summer with Bath Travel/Palmair having some of the seats?

I think the Thomas Cook flights will be operated into BOH on a W pattern.

I don't think that such a large airport with its attendant investment can succeed on the basis of GA activity!

A shame really that such an increasingly excellent facility just doesn't have the catchment and access enjoyed by Southampton with its lesser facilities.

The leisure market, served primarily by low cost operators, just does not generate the required revenue. Teesside, Docaster, Blackpool, Coventry, Cardiff etc etc all in the same boat.

Just too many airports on this small island??

Yet again Bournemouth is the only airport that Ryanair have not loaded there timetable past mid March ! are they about to play the same game again as this winter by keeping everyone waiting until the last minute

Not sure what Palmair are going to do next summer , at the moment they have taken seats on Tenerife and Lanzarote with Thomson until April

I am guessing Thomas Cook would make an announcement fairly soon if they were going to add any extra routes in addition to Corfu , Dalaman and Antalya which are all W patterns from other UK airports

Missing from the Palmair programme would be Palma , Faro , Mahon , Dubrovnik , Brescia to name but a few . Quite a big gap that someone could fill with the right size aircraft . Shame they cant use the spare BA aircraft sat at London City over the weekend , this would fit into the Palmair schedule very well

Palm-who?

Apparently MAG have sent down a 'marketing man' to kick things into life down there.

All I can say is good luck to the fella.

If they really have sent a Marketing Man ! Well Done

However it's about 24 months too late They should have been promoting the new facilities to Airlines & Pax a year before the new Terminal was built, not wait until it has fallen flat on it's face with one flight per day.

No-one has really commented on the length of RYR's pull-out - 3 months.

This helps solves an annual problem for RYR. Their pilots are limited to 100 hours a month and 900 hours a year. Therefore they fly to the limit for 9 months and take 3 months off. RYR have always been short of pilot duty time in the winter and regularly park up 737s. Obviously this year they decided that pulling out of BOH helped them in more ways than one!

I am so pleased to hear pulling out of BOH for three months helped Ryanair !

I also notice Ryanairs game plan to see off Palmair also worked !

It's a shame the net result is lots & lots of good people got shafted along the way.

Does anyone know the exact wording, relating to CAA regulations that all Airlines must be offered the same terms by the Airport Authority, so as to keep a level playing field ?? Who is it that actually checks that

By the looks of it nobody.

According to the Telegraph, some of those passengers have been let into the country without a passport or immigration checks.
