Onxycrowle - might be polite to give Eastern a bit of credit for knowing what they are doing - they've been based at HUY for over 15 years, so I expect they understand what's viable from their airport and what isn't.
Cornishsimon - happy to spend somebody else's money! Don't forget Eastern will have had sight of WOW's books before dropping NQY like a stone...
Eastern had the chance to operate routes at NQY after they purchased SZ, they decided to abandon the SZ routes which would of been ideally suited to the J41 and S2000
Poor show by Eastern as far as NQY is concerned in my opinion.

Ok let me put it this way, Respectfully as a passanger I would prefer to use my local airport.
By doing so in theory that money should in part go back into the local economy and so on.
Afaik North Lincolnshire Council have a share in the Airport in turn ( not meant in negative way) I pay my council tax , Out of this I take it rhat Transport is part of thar budget.
While Im fully aware that they dont own Eastern, Nor would I presume to tell them their jobs , As I have the utmost respect for their staff who do those jobs to give us services etc.
But they should be open to questions about what routes might be pheasible without resorting to the sarcasm above.
The fact that customers potentially want to use their airport rather than drive to Lba ( hard to reach).
Or two hours to MAN , Should be taken as a compliment to them.
Huy is underused and unlike Dsa ( which is also close by and I support ) Is far enough away from Man that it is surely in a more ideal location to attract the public.
Further more our local mainline rail link Is closed with little hope of reopening this year.
Afaik that is affecting the Hull-Goole line as well.
So perhaps someone in the know can explain to me why its not possible to run 'charter ' style flights to Edinburgh for example or Even Lcy ( if you operate there).
In other words offering an opertunity to save an hour on a business trip to reach Edinburgh or London...
Surely being a 'local' Airport is a chance to play upto that and offer regional flights to UK/Irish Destination's.
Perhaps a local survey of the area's as was done By Klm for the Manston flights.....

Talking about charters then , Wasnt there s rumor about a 737.
If Eastern had one, Perhaps those Sun charters might be possible. Ad Im guessing you're not going to reach spain on an ERJ...

An ERJ-145 could quite easily reach Spain, but there just isn't the market for it and even if there was, Eastern is not the airline to do it. They are a niche business airline.
There was a rumour of them taking on GainJets exec configured 737's (and what did happen to that?), and if so I would expect they would be used as an extension of the corporate/sporting charter part of the business rather than for IT sun flights.

Apologies cornishsimon, but if you look at some of the other posts (especially on the Doncaster threads) you'll see why I said it. Didn't want to sound patronising. I'm just mindful of the PPRuNe Rules to which we all agreed when we signed up, one of which is:

I think the Embraer is the least of the worrys. For the past year those crews on the EMB have been flying Mon-Fri up in ABZ to SVG when they are supposed to be on a charter contract taking up the slack of the tech SAAB.
Managment is your issue, not the EMB crews.

Max duty, long split duty days 5 times a week. I think you should check out your source of information on the Embraer's based in ABZ.....
Yes they have it better than J41 or SAAB crew's depending on what base though!
I will reiterate... Management is the problem not the EMB crew.

Any updates on the training ban being lifted and recruitment, or anyone know if they they have lost crews this year that moved onto better things.
If they were getting 737 on a lease, why not use the Embraer if they are not so busy for the holiday flights.

G-EMBP left Eastern about a month ago.
Apparently it wasn't technically crewed as the crew numbers on the fleet were so low anyway, so losing an airframe wasn't going to affect the crewing levels.
