T3 have announced that they will end the 2 x Daily MME-LBA-SOU service on Friday 3rd September. T3's weekly Sunday service, ABZ-MME-SOU will continue to operate
T3's seasonal service from DIJ-SOU will end on the 30th September.
From this date T3 will only be offering 3 flights each weekday to and from ABZ and a Sunday flight to ABZ via MME
T3 dropped there flights from ABZ and SOU to LPL earlier in the summer.
Eastern Airways have had 4 J41 aircraft listed as available for Sale/Lease. Does anyone know if T3 have sold/leased these aircraft or do T3 have plan to store some of there fleet this winter??.
The aircraft in question are
G-MAJB
G-MAJW
G-MAJY

Plymouth - Glasgow 11 August
What happened?
This simple trip turned into an a journey that would have daunted even Michael Palin: five airports in one day!
Eastern having dropped Plymouth from the route. I make my own way to Newquay to be told "Flight's cancelled, didn't you know"?. Taxi to Exeter, nice FlyBe person says; "We don't fly to Glasgow from here, you'll have to change aircraft at Manchester". After passing through Manchester finally arrived in Glasgow nine hours after leaving home. Plymouth to Glasgow is easily driveable in 8hrs 30mins.
Can anyone throw any light on what went wrong at Newquay on that fateful day?

There was nothing in the various media releases regarding the route, including comments from Eastern/BAA GLA/Glasgow Council/Glasgow Marketing Bureau, to even remotely suggest that this service was a trial (and a pretty short one at that). If it is is, it's rather disingenuous on the part of several of these bodies to make out that it's longer-term.
Given the length of the trial and given that it's only been announced little more than 2 weeks before the start of services on the route, it seems like it may be handicapped right from the start, no matter what market there is for it - I guess there may may be a word of mouth effect among many of the potential oil-related pax and I realise many oil bookings may be fairly last minute, but how can the service be given a fair trial when the service could have been announced, operated and canned before 6 weeks have elapsed. It could be gone before most potential pax have even heard of it, let alone had a chance to actually use it!

With all the trouble RE are experiencing, i don't understand how Eastern have not pounced on the IOM to LCY route. Pax would appreciate a regular on time good service. Do Eastern just seem to choose poor performing routes rather than an ideal niche route like this one?

Surprised no interest in Blackpool to London area. Couple of years passenger figures available from the Ryanair era....would seem ideal for a turboprop operator. Further back in history Autair did it with an Ambassador [occassionally a Viking]

Eastern tried LCY from NCL but LCY charges made it unviable for a J41 operation if I recall correctly. Sadly the same would likely be true for a IOM-LCY op as well.
BLK-LCY would be the same if not worse (there are overland alternatives from Blackpool which will not be quite as feasible from IOM!!)

Is my understanding correct that the only remaining route to Norway is ABZ-SVG, with all other UK destinations now being served via one-stops or connections thorugh ABZ and and at the Norwegian end BGO being axed?
