There was nothing in the various media releases regarding the route, including comments from Eastern/BAA GLA/Glasgow Council/Glasgow Marketing Bureau, to even remotely suggest that this service was a trial (and a pretty short one at that). If it is is, it's rather disingenuous on the part of several of these bodies to make out that it's longer-term.
Given the length of the trial and given that it's only been announced little more than 2 weeks before the start of services on the route, it seems like it may be handicapped right from the start, no matter what market there is for it - I guess there may may be a word of mouth effect among many of the potential oil-related pax and I realise many oil bookings may be fairly last minute, but how can the service be given a fair trial when the service could have been announced, operated and canned before 6 weeks have elapsed. It could be gone before most potential pax have even heard of it, let alone had a chance to actually use it!
