I recently fly EMX to BHD last week, only 5 on board... can't see this lasting long but a very cheap private charter anyhow!

Why are the M2 BLK figures so low? Only 51% loads during August. Thought that the loads would be higher! Hvae more people decided in Spain etc. than IOM for the summer compared to last summer. Over 100% increase in flights yet only 11% increase on passengers all be it that last summer there were two airlines flying the route.

Seems that M2 now have five aircraft, is this true? Their schedule only needs four aircraft! Is the other for the charter services that they have been advertising on their website?

Cheers.

P.S. Any new routes? EMA, NQY and Oxford would be good choices. Obviously if you can sell over 1000 seats on the GLO flights then, these would be simple!

Post How they dare - Manx2

Red17 wrote:

Actually, it is perhaps the other way around as Manx2 fly both BHD and BFS as well as Blackpool, LBA and GLO (and Jersey weekends)

Their prices are good and why shouldn't they dare compete against an airline that isn't one. Not all airlines have AOCs it appears and not all airlines with 'Manx' in their name are Manx. If you book Euro-Manx then you contract with a company registered in Innsbruck that flies mostly Irish planes and even they have a little sign at the doorway to say the flights are flown by Aer Arann.

Aint nothin over running a ticket selling office with a posh name and trying to kid the Manx that they have a "national airline" again.

I too fly EuroManx and am (now) satisfied with them but Manx2 provide a slick and payable service in all directions and are a nice link to Jet2 if you fly out of Bradford.

Remember, homebase is IOM and not GLO and Manx2 really are Manx

I guess that's why they dare ;-)

Airnuts

You appear to make an issue out of EuroManx operating one Irish registered aircraft (wet leased from AerArran) and two Austrian registered aircraft (which they own) and that you contract with an Austrian company. True but the Austrian company (same ownership) is there as EuroManx holds a Austrian AOC - as a JAA AOC equivalent to a UK one. The reason? The bureaucratic hurdles the UK CAA put new operators through are horrendous - thus most UK AOC start ups acquire a company with an existing AOC and transfer it across - Silverjet is one example as they acquired Flyjet's AOC. EuroManx employs a lot of locals and puts an awful lot into the Manx economy.

Are Manx 2 really as Manx as you believe?

To quote their website "our schedule is flown by a team of specialist airline operators" - being VanAir Europe (Czech Republic), FLM Aviation (Germany) and European Airline 2000 Limited (Malta?). Manx 2 appear to be no more than a ticketing agency.

Good luck to them - I hope they succeed - but to blindly accept them as Manx to the detriment of others is just wrong I'm afraid.

Airnuts calm down before you burst a blood vessel. The truth is Manx2 and EuroManx are about as Manx as each other. They are both based in the Isle of Man and operate an assortment of aircraft. So long as their operations are safe reliable and value for money what does it matter. The post about how dare they was in good humour!! Whats the next debate?? Who serves the saltiest nuts?? Well thats manx2 out of the frame... Euromanx or FlyBe?

On a more serious note FlyBe punctuality to and from IOM has showen a marked improvement this week although marred by a couple of MAN cancellations. they getting there...

Calm down, calm down

"Airnuts calm down before you burst a blood vessel"

and there are a few expilots done that recently. It just isn't worth it. There is more to life than commercial aviation.

I heard a Manx2 passenger today sum up their Let410 aircraft perfectly:

"A lawnmower with wings."

Brilliant!

I gather the Let 410 is doing the GLO sectors tomorrow.

Lots of very positive feedback from the pax at this end. They love the free parking, quick check in and 10 yard walk to the aeroplane. Loads seem really good too.

Angel Manx2 and GLO

G'day folks. Seems to be a lot of interest in this route and I went down with them on their second day to check out the possibilities when in GLO

The report you can read and see at
http://www1.freewebs.com/travelreports/manx2glo.htm
and it keeps growing from time to time

Regarding dodgy aircraft, try TansPeru and StarUp under Peru at http://travel.holidays.com/links2#saper
Something to grin about (as long as you carry Vodka) and something to chuckle about when those headed for Peur and Macchu Pichu proudly announce in bizclass style that "We are going to fly to Cusco". I always have to think "Wanna bet?"

Regarding bursting blood vessels, that's one thing I never did in almost 69 yrs and never will do. For 50yrs now I live by the motto "never worry - it never solved a problem for anyone"

Thanks for the feedback on EM. I understood that quite easily.
Reminds me of my March-April trip this year when I flew to Limoges and went to Spain and Andorra in the snow before flying via Hahn to Nykoeping to meet up with friends in Stockholm and slept in Riga because the youth hostels were too expensive in STO.
Completely logical - I only had to cross the Irish Sea once and only paid the Brownonian APD once as I came home from DUB.
Nearly went to Tampere from Riga too but decided not to overdo it.

I see from the IOM figs that IOM GLO is doing alright for M2. Anyone know what's happening to GLO JER loads?

No idea on how GLO - JER loads are doing but according to the airline they've had nearly 3000 bookings (which I guess includes JER)

Extra BHD

According to Manx Radio Manx2 are adding another BHD rotation. Looks like its starting mid December - same time as 3W. Looks good for the pax but will hurt someone

Manx2 scores record month

02/11/2007

Airline Manx2 is to add more flights to its Belfast timetable after a record month of sales on the route.

Manx2 booked 2,650 customers on its services to both Belfast airports in October, giving it an estimated market share of over 70%.

Statistics for October also show the market has grown by approximately 20% compared to the same month in 2006.

The company’s Communications Director James Filleul says the airline now offers up to 14 flights on a weekday.

Don't go there

They'd be mad if they did. We always try to keep em locked on the J31. Soon as someone misses target acid and alluminium start reacting and before you know it corrosion (as well as smell). If you can't hold your bladder for 30 minutes sectors you probably shouldn't be flying anyway!

Just noticed on the M2 website that from early next year you can travel BLK-BHD up to (Friday)three times daily and twice daily (Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu) and daily (Sun) for £79 one-way. The prices then increase to £99 when 2 pax or more are already booked on either flight and the fair then goes to £119 for Manx Gold when 4 or more have booked.

I personally think that it is not a bad fare for a return flight from BLK. Especially on the Monday and Friday when you can be in BHD for 09:45 and leave at 17:40.

I don't know why M2 don't advertise these more. If LS only offer 1 daily flight (which is definately not suitable for businessmen/women on a day trip) and MAN and LPL not being the best for easy passage - now a major advantage and convenience to business travellers, why not?

May try it out!
