Manx2 should start a Fri/Sun service between IOM & CWL - was always a popular route back in the days of Manx Airlines & BA Express

Any opinions ?

IM sorry, but MANX 2 ISNT AN AIRLINE! NO AOC. No matter how you dress this b unch up, its only a ticket provider!

The CAA allow a start up like this lot 2 yrs grace on someone elses AOC, I beleive its FLM at the moment. Surely it must be coming to an end?

Manx2 gets base at island airport
The airline Manx2 is to set up a new maintenance base and company headquarters on the Isle of Man. The firm is to refurbish one of the former British Airways hangars on a 5,000 sq ft (465 sq m) site at Ronaldsway airport.
As well as hangar space, the building will house offices and an engineering base. Manx2 plans to have a "centre of excellence" for turboprop engines.
The firm said its plans were a "major commitment" to the island.
It hopes the development will make it more convenient for the airline to maintain the aircraft to minimise delays.

"We have had limited office space in the terminal building at the airport for the last eighteen months, but it is now time for us to expand," said communications director James Filleul.
"This is a major commitment to the Isle of Man, and one we are delighted to be making.
"We have great faith in where the island is going and are looking forward to playing our part in its success."
Manx2 operates flights from the Isle of Man to Blackpool, Belfast, and Leeds Bradford, Nottingham, Jersey and Gloucester airports.

Thumbs up

GLO numbers are up, though....and likely to continue upwards with Eastern ditching the BRS.

How is the GLO-JER leg doing. Any plans to add extra flights? With Blue Islands routing one way via DUB could this be an opportunity for Manx2 (though Blue Islands will still be non-stop one way as well)

GLO-JER average about 50% since September - though not sure how well the route is being promoted in JER as an alternative to BRS/BHX (which seemed to work for IOM-GLO). The route isn't on the Jersey Airport website or in their W07/S08 timetables.....

Manx2 at JER

I'm not surprised that this flight is not shown an JER airport site as Manx2, as Manx2, not being an operator, does not have the licence to operate this route. If I remember correctly Orange Aircraft Leasing has the licence, but don't know if they are actually involved? Very confusing situation.

Manx2 Jer

I thought that might be the reason - although i think there are 2 or 3 operators Manx2 use but not sure which one uses the Metro. In any case it's a regular flight so not sure why it can't be advertised/timetabled.....
