Do you think there's any chance of additional routes from GLO in '08? Especially due to the success of the IOM route and that the 228 is better suited to GLO ops....

Also in view of the runway restrictions there's unlikely to be any competion from any of the Dash or ATR operators!

I think Noel Hayes has come up with the perfect formula here, as you say, take the airports where the big boys cannot touch you.

BLK will always be a success and other routes such as BFS and GLO and JER are not possible to service by any other carrier on that scale. The BFS based airlines are all A320/B737 operators who wouldn't be able to operate a decent frequency compared to demand.

The only routes I can see M2 vulnerable on at the moment are BHD (where BE have a huge presence) and LBA which is may be in the scope of BE for further expansion. Unless the an airline wants to launch 4x daily to BLK at £15 a head, I cannot see M2 worrying too much over the next 12 months and I think their expansion plans support this.

Congrats to M2 and the management who seem to have discovered a winning formula!

Yep, the travel agency formula seems the best for the IOM at the moment. Good luck to them but a LET-410 in a force 9, not for me

It'd be interesting to see what happens on this score. Flybe ditched both of these routes when the original Q200/300's were returned. The BHD route was cancelled following the cancellation of the BHD-IOM-LCY route. The LBA route was handed over to Eastern I think, at the same time as the BRS route was also removed.

Jersey European used to have a significant presence in IOM, however this was all but wiped out when the fleet was concentrated on the much larger Q400. Flybe really only came back to IOM following the acquisition of BAConnect. I'm not so sure that Flybe would attempt to place such a large aircraft on either the LBA or the BHD routes but funnier things have happened.

Given that FlyBe have just chopped the LBA-ABZ, I would not have thought that an LBA-IOM would be on the cards IMHO.

Remember that FlyBe also suspended the JER-LPL route and we all know next summer will see FlyBe on the IOM-LPL route

Something to do with there not being many Scousers on Jersey I believe. The IOM is somewhat different, and closer.

You What?

Hey. Manxy 2 carry 14 px on a good flight 2x daily to LBA.Most of them are business pax needing 2x daily. Not sure how that converts to fill an 80 seater Q400 . go figure.. LBAs nearest competition is MAN so why rob Peter?

Word in the snug is new route to be announced next week. Norwich, Cambridge, East Mid and Robin Hood are favs. Cambridge would be great just like GLO.

If there is a new route to be announced, it will be to Oxford.

You could say the same about DSA and LBA.

I'm expecting PIK.

Airport runway probe
A PROBE has been launched after an incident involving a Manx2 flight from the Island.
Blackpool International Airport confirmed that an incident occurred on the runway today at approximately 8am in connection with an in-bound flight from the Isle of Man.
The matter has been reported to the Civil Aviation Authority and is currently being investigated.
The Blackpool Gazette reported that a Land Rover was on the air strip when the plane was trying to land.
Airport director of operations Steve Wiltshire said: 'Due to the nature of the incident, it was not necessary for the emergency services to attend and the aircraft landed safely. We would like to confirm that the airport is operating as normal.'

I'm told that Jetstream Exec is being brought back in to do the EMA? Do they have 2 aircraft flying again?
