Well there was a Saab at SCS today and it wasn't a Flybe or Loganair one - so wonder who does that leaves
Bush telegraph there suggested a tie-up that most of us had not considered.

So could it be possible that T3 could come to a deal with Flightline? Are they talking about maybe taking over (or leasing in) the 146s - or some of them?
Have T3 sourced more 2000s if they have won the contract but not using the 146s?

Doubt the 146 has the range for ABZ-SUM anyway.
Easy spokesman blaming "low winter demand" for the cut in freq on LTN this winter. Either that or they see ABZ as the "easy" option in cutting back.

Think they may have been a little premature cutting the morning flights. Yes, historically, the loads have been poor over the winter but that was before BA chopped the LGW service. In the ensuing battle of the locos for pax to "London", Ezy was winning hands down against BE with 90%+ loads on both am and pm flights during the summer.
Only winner will be FlyBE once more!
By the way, Caley are doing ramp handling for Logie Bear from GMT- hence staff requirement. I would mention who is doing FOH and OPS but fear I may be by the mods

Firstly the 146s will not be staying on the route, regardless of who operates them. The Saab 2000 does not have the capacity since it only has 50 seats unless the IAC are willing to go onto a 5 aircraft program which includes the spare but I doubt that very much since parking at SCS and the general logistics become more complicated. Loads in and out of SCS can frequently exceed the 50 seats that the Saab 2000 has.
A colleague of mine was speaking to a FlyBe cabin crew member during the other week who was under the impression that the IAC contract was a done deal! The Dash 8 Q400 has the performance for a 1200m runway and FlyBe have apparently indicated that a big announcement is likely soon!
The official line is that no operator has been chosen but everything points to FlyBe using the Dash 8 Q400!

Where are Flybe going to park them all?
See domestic figures continue to fall, but international pax overall still doing well. Seems that will be the main point of expansion in future, unless Flybe for example think they can make some domestic routes work with their loco model?
STN is 8yrs & counting, CWL must be something like 5yrs+.

Well at least BMI Baby are trying to help them out with BHX
going down to six a week in the winter. I think the double
daily in the week was on sale for one whole month and a bit
before getting extras got the chop leaving just evening flights.
Another route for flybe to clean up on business pax.

The problem with stands tends to be at certain times of the day.First thing in the morning weekdays,Friday and Sunday late afternoons.It wouldn't take many extra aircraft at these times to cause problems.Parking would have to be on 23,which reduces capacity even further.However that only affects helis,which don't count as we all know.The BAA certainly don't care about them.

The IT charter flights to TFS this winter that were to be operated by Futura, are to be picked up by Flyglobespan. I assume this is ADDITIONAL to the scheduled service.
