Can anyone confirm that flyBE is seriously looking at
- opening up a French base ?
- launching French domestic routes ?
- serving some main German airports like BER, MUC, DUS from its regional bases in the UK?
All the above has been rumoured here and there recently.

Royal Jordanian has an order for seven(?) E-195's.
Delivery begins about October.
I am led to believe that FlyBe are going to receive their E-195's at one every two months.
Any comments ?
Flybe are also looking into flying out of Southend.

They do have a Sothend connection already, last year they operated Jersey-Southend -Jersey as i believe a whole aircraft charter this year it is marketed i believe as a schedule flight but only operates on saturdays from the 13th may.
This could well be the start of bigger things to happen a Southend for Flybe schedule operates from there but it take time.
With more Dash q 400s arriving they may be making an annoucement some time this year about more operation from Southend but i would think not until 2007 but i may be provided wrong i hope.

Flybe BHD-NCL & BRS
Anyone know why Flybe seemed to reduce their frequency on the Belfast City to Newcastle and Bristol routes? Seems unusual they know only have 1 flight a day compared to about 4 they had not so long ago

most of the crew would like to know too! The loads were always good but have dwindled away, as one a day flights give no passengers the chance of a day return or any flexability! We are not exactly shy of spare airplanes these days with all the new ones arriving!!

Well Hudson Bay, if you've read today's flybe newsletter then you'll see that the first 195 is scheduled for service in September, as originally planned So, not all little birds tell a true story

The Flybe chief commercial officer (MR), speaking at an airlines/airports conference in Marseille this morning, said (among other things):
- when entering a new market (with no existing LCC service) FlyBE's general aim is to bring existing fares down by half to two thirds, which they find drives at least a tripling of the market size.
- FlyBE is planning more services to France (in particular he seemed to imply direct service from Northern Ireland)
- They are considering establishing a base in France and/or Spain (and by implication, operating domestically in one or both of those countries). They've apparently put a call for tenders out to a number of French airports as part of the process of choosing a base.

Makes more sense than challenging Brit Air on the CDG route, which at first glance makes more sense due to their existing operations to NWI and EXT from CDG. I don't believe Scot Air have any interline agreements in AMS, whereas Brit Air does with AF through CDG?

I think Scot Airways may have some interline deal with KLM
Are Flybe allowed to fly SOU-CDG under the terms of their deal to end their AF franchise, or did that only affect BHX-CDG?

Air Transport Intelligence reported a couple of days back, quoting Mike Rutter, that flyBE is going through cost estimates of setting up four or five bases in France or Spain for domestic routes. Decision in August (they might still opt to stay in the UK) but judging from the tone of the piece France is looking like a very strong contender.
