The Flybe chief commercial officer (MR), speaking at an airlines/airports conference in Marseille this morning, said (among other things):
- when entering a new market (with no existing LCC service) FlyBE's general aim is to bring existing fares down by half to two thirds, which they find drives at least a tripling of the market size.
- FlyBE is planning more services to France (in particular he seemed to imply direct service from Northern Ireland)
- They are considering establishing a base in France and/or Spain (and by implication, operating domestically in one or both of those countries). They've apparently put a call for tenders out to a number of French airports as part of the process of choosing a base.
