Wizz to start flights from Girona - Kyiv-Zhulyany from 6 September. Why not start it from BCN where all other W6 routes operate?
Already competition? (Was in BCN last week: there was a flight to Kiev, but didn't note airline).

There is no timetable or flights for sale past March 2012 for any UK destinations (LPL, LTN, PIK and DSA) from Warsaw yet. They can't be dropping all of them so I'd assume they just aren't loaded yet.

EIN-VNO, this new EIN-RIX and Ryanair's new EIN-KUN will all operate on Mondays and Fridays... I do not like it.

Gives possibilities for a long weekend?
Interesting though, Ryanair started competing with WizzAir from EIN on a few routes. Is this the same move by WizzAir, competing with Ryanairs NRN-RIX route?

2nd aircraft for Vilnius

Wizz Air adds a 2nd aircraft to its Vilnius base

Wizz Air, the largest low fare - low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe announced today that it would launch four new routes and increase frequencies on several existing services by adding a second Airbus A320 aircraft to its Vilnius base as of May 2012.
On top of the 8 current destinations, Wizz Air introduces four new routes to Liverpool (UK), Paris Beauvais (France), Oslo Sandefjord Torp and Bergen (Norway), and also increases frequencies on 2 existing routes from the 27th of May 2012:

Destination Current Frequency New Frequency Start of Operations Liverpool New 2 per week 28 May '12 Paris Beauvais New 2 per week 28 May '12 Oslo Sandefjord Torp New 2 per week 27 May '12 Bergen New 2 per week 27 May '12 London Luton 5 11 per week operating Eindhoven 2 3 per week operating

All flights are on sale at wizzair.com with fares starting from as low as LTL 90 (one way, including taxes).
"Wizz Air is very happy with the Lithuanian performance since the base opening and wants to maintain its momentum on the market. By deploying a second aircraft, we further boost the local economy, and increase the number of destinations available from Vilnius at truly affordable prices" - said György Abrán, Chief Commercial Officer of Wizz

Vilnius expansion

That's great news ! With two based aircraft, we have a small Lithuanian Airlines again. Maybe they can paint some small LT flags onto them :-) Seriously, the additional flights to LTN are very welcome, as the 6:30 departure is a bit inconvenient, and goes straight into the crazy arrivals mess at LTN in the morning. Now awaiting the answer from FR. We won't be unhappy here in BHX about a few more KUN flights, if that's possible. The reason that EIN has such a boom is of course its proximity to the German market. As soon as the German government drop their stupid tax, they will come back to NRN and also CGN. Surely EIN is throwing money at the airlines currently. I agree it's too many flights to EIN, DTM is a much better bet.

Any more on Wizz moving operations from DSA to EMA?
Read somewhere on here that Wizz have been at EMA discussing this in the last couple of months, however Wizz have started to release their summer 2012 timetable from DSA, so could still be a year or two before it happens.

If they weren't happy at DSA, they would have left by now. I know it's impossible for you to think that an airline could be successful at DSA, but clearly Wizz have proved you wrong. Why would they wait a year or two when they could move now?

I could imagine the Ryanair are starting to pull some pax away from Wizz at DSA with Gdansk and Krakow available up the road in Leeds. Certainly Krakow will be taking possible Katowice pax.
Moving to EMA would make sense in this case if Ryanair decided on more LBA Polish flights. Also,I think there could be more jobs available for Polish workers in the LBA region.
