This summers Jersey flight is operated by Air Southwest.
As normal the flight operates every Saturday from 28th May through 17th September.

Hopefully better news for Dundee? (From Scotland on Sunday this morning) :
A BATTLE for Anglo-Scottish business air passengers is looming as CityJet prepares to announce new flights and consolidate operations in Edinburgh.
The Air France-KLM-owned airline is expected to unveil extra services between the Scottish capital and London City airport, which has become a favourite among business travellers.
A new route from Aberdeen to the Docklands airport is also in the offing, along with more flights from Dundee.

I spent 4 years living in Dundee, 3 of them right under the approach path and although I no longer have anything to do with Dundee, I often wonder why no one has launched a route to DUB! The huge number of Irish students in and around the Dundee area (St Andrews included) would surely make such a venture profitable.
There must be a case for an RE or BE link at least a few times a week!

Students go for the cheap end fares so not the best. Seems that BCY are trying to get back to where they were a few years ago. BA have a better aircraft at a competitive price on LCY-EDI. Not sure how this new development turns that around. Also LCY is not a plce to connect, the airport does not have that business model or facilities. The amount of road traffic on the apron at LCY is already heavy enough without adding connecting passengers on foot into the mix! Imagine the chaos.....

Fair enough, costs are quite high when talking about DND airport and students don't like high prices (I know, I was one in Dundee for 4 years and used the airport once to come back from BHD-£76 single booked 4 weeks in advance)!
However, the cost of getting down to EDI or up to ABZ from Dundee does add up. The cheapest way to EDI is a through megabus ticket, which although good value, realistically rules out any flights before 11:30am (earliest arrival time at EDI is 0955) and any flights that arrive after 7pm (latest departure from EDI is 1925). Before the first bus time it's an expensive train and bus or taxi journey and after that time it gets awkward with buses etc. I know, I did it many a time!
I know DND will never rival the likes of LHR or probably even INV, but perhaps if a few more regional routes were started up then overall costs could become low enough for the services to attract the punters in greater numbers!

I mean 5-6 days per week,the first arrival into LCY is @ 1000 and 1st arrival in to Dundee 1755. Mondays and Saturdays being the exceptions. I thought I read an announcement somewhere that there was going to be an expansion on the Dundee to LCY route?

I noticed from the CAA stats that for the 12 months ending 31-May-2012, Dundee has only 58,000 passengers, down from 69,000 the previous 12 months. All 3 routes seem to be losing passenger numbers.
Yes, a very easy-to-use airport from the passenger point of view, especially compared to the trek to either Dyce or Edinburgh, but how sustainable are these routes as ongoing operations ?

Divide 58,000 by 365 gives 159 passengers per day, then divide again by 6 (the maximum number of flights per day) gives 26.5. I would say that's a good load factor for a 34 and 31 seat aeroplanes ?
I wonder how many staff are needed for a whole day to cover security, ATC, baggage, check in, fire cover, cleaning, maintenance etc. I guess including aircrew (8 pilots and 4 cabin crew) it could be 5 passengers per employee ? Hence the relatively high airfare.
