The contract between EI and Stobart is clear, any possible changes would need EI support and remember its then who are the boss of Stobart and they would be bankrupt without then.
All the same would be nice to see some jets on regional UK.

In a curious twist we would be back to 146/RJs in Aer Lingus livery operating UK regional flights from Dublin, 20 years on.

Looks like the fleet is starting to creak? A number of late cancellations and delays this week and JOTA brought in to fly both the RJ100 and the new RJ85 primarily on the Cork route.

Is that because they are an airframe down due to the incident at Florence?

I heard it will be used for charters. Does anybody know how many SSJs they will take before the SSJ will be LCY certified? I can't see the point to use a new aircraft only for charters?

With Aer Lingus rumoured about to conclude a deal with Ryanair over interling and feeding transatlantic passengers through Dublin would there be a need for the Aer Lingus Regional/Stobart Air operation.
Perhaps Stobart would then switch to being some sort of Cityjet franchise.

The Superjets could potentially repeat the EIR model in smaller airports in the Benelux countries for EI, airports too small to warrant and A320. Who knows.

I really wouldn't want to be CityJet; they have an impossibly difficult market to operate in.
It could all go wonderfully well. Or alternatively every route they operate could become pointless and the aircraft they operate them with could become a thing with an awful reputation.

The Ryanair feed as described was specifically intended for connectivity from selected flights, routes not served by EI. There would not be need for FR to start routes to facilitate the interlining or on routes like ABZ, NQY or the like.
There is an agreement in place with Stobart Air for some years to come, can on presume that this will be preserved...

The frequency of chops and changes in the CityJet route network (google images tells me about routes that lived such a short time I completely missed them) conveys a certain desperation of the same nature as VLM and InterSKy's frantic scrambles to find random routes that might work.

"The airline said that it will be in direct contact with all affected passengers who will be entitled to a full refund."
Isn't it marvellous how airline contracts are unidirectional?
Cityjet have entered into a contract to convey each of those passengers to a destination. They should not be permitted to just throw their hands up and say "nah couldn't be bothered".
