Flybe booking system showing WAT-BHX, nothing bookable yet. Think it would be great if it happoned and BE. Only problem BE would struggle to fill there Q400.
Regarding filling a Q400, never say never. In Flybe's favour, its a route with a proven flow of traffic rather than being a blank sheet of paper. If Flybe can get timings right, (Fri eve, Sun eve, etc) and push the route via its regular UK advertising the route has every chance. Hopefully after BHX they may be able to see the merits in launching EDI-WAT in time.

A watchout for Aer Arann here, I think Flybe will be aware that the Luton route is the preferred Waterford London route that is now reduced by AerArann since Southend opened. What appetite would AerArann have to fight it out on this route i.e Waterford/Luton? BHX WAT LTN WAT BHX??
Surely if Waterford appears in Flybe website there is something relevant in this??

It looks like its being slowly loaded on as a connection, like how BHX-BUD was. If you look on some flight websites you can already book it via BHD and MAN, that may sound ridiculous but some of flybe's connections are like that, involving multiple stops on relitively short sectors. It would possibly give them a gauge of demand for a direct service, but I can't see it achieving a lot unless it actually is direct.

It can't be an IT error BE have never flown to Waterford and WAT would not be in there systems. All I can say would be great if it happons.
Remenber CEO of the airport said BHX would be back yet over the last few weeks all I have saw RE said that no decision has being made (twitter).
BE have expanded at NOC and CFN recently and doing fairly well.

If Flybe do operate the BHX route dependent on the timings there may be a few well timed connections onward to other destinations via BHX which may help to put a few more bottoms on seats.

It was in the booking engine yesterday under the not-much visited country "other" at the bottom of the list but like Budapest last month it disappeared after it was mentioned on Pprune. I am sure just co-incidence
However Budapest is back now as a code-share so I would imagine a pretty good indicator.
Will it be a Waterford based aircraft as CC mentions to conect with BHX morning services and then perhaps stay doing BHX flights in the day returning late to Waterford or the other way round?

The airport would not make a big deal about BHX being resumed by Aer Arann. The airport is being very tight lipped about BHX being resumed and if it was Aer Arann they would come out and say it.
When Flybe were asked about WAT-BHX.
Flybe came out today and said all flights are on sale until Oct 2012. Why not say No they will not be operating the route and WAT was suddenly removed from there site a short time lather.
BE had MAN-LDY on the website before it was announced....

As I said yestersday BHX - WAT was listed in the connections timetable. That would say yes EDI direct to me or at a push GLA. Probably done on a W pattern from BHX. Be interesting to see what colour these RE aircraft come back as.

Whether its Flybe are not, depsite the detractors WAT until recently had a very loyal local passenger base, the CAA stats for a couple of years back tell that story. If somebody comes in and gives the local market some tlc again oppportunities abound! Maybe the same CAA stats are showing Ireland-UK traffic figures being more resilient than many UK domestic routes?
EDI in my mind seems the next logical progression. Flybe can go hammer and tong at the route and not worry about loseing the same business at ORK/DUB. Been so close to Glasgow, this market is opened up also and tourist flow to EDI is always going to be there.
Some strategically timed weekend LTN flights would be a no-brainer in my mind too.
Growing pax numbers through whatever means possible is the best medicine WAT can get right now. Focusing public attention on it been a success story is probably half the battle for Government funding. Great to hear the positivety in that newspaper article.
