Flight to Preveza PVK for the summer is now listed in edition 2 of the Airport Timetable as being operated by A3 Aegean Airlines, out 1200, in 1100 using 737-400 equipment. FCA are no longer operating wed VRN, TOM using a GLA based a/c.

Does anyone know if there will be a SKG flight this year? I seems to have been missed off all programmes, yet I believe Olympic and Libra are still selling packages there. Indeed it was a very popular flight, so I'm led to believe.

On the departure board for tomorrow morning? Could this be a hint of a new route or is it a charter?

Hi,

Its a charter. There are a series of these charters operating over the next couple of months. I am not 100% sure, but I think it could be operating weekly.

The LS LYS flight is a charter onbehalf of a ski holiday company. It operates weekly until March. Good use of the based aircraft downtime.

On the subject of Jet2, does anyone have a rotation plan for the two based a/c? The timetable is a little confusing, would it not be better for them to have a more regular schedule, like other carriers or indeed are they doing it the right way and only operating flights when there is a demand?

Does anyone think Jet2 will introduce more routes, possibly with a 3rd a/c? Surely detinations such as VCE, VLC and possibly LGW are a possiblity? And does anyone know how the TFS flight will work? I cant see them basing an a/c in TFS, so I presume it will be a W pattern from LBA or MAN, with the crew getting a slip in TFS???????

Any new rumours going round recently, or any updates on summer 06? XLA def having AY 757.

Rumour mill is very quiet right now! - I haven't heard anything for a while.

I'd like to see a 3rd aircraft from LS but who knows when it will be.

I dont think we will see anything from easyjet.

I remember them saying when they first started that 10 aircraft will be based at NCL by 2010.

So maybe 1 aircraft a year starting at the end of 2007

It would be nice to see a completely new airline start ops at NCL this year. It was going to be AA but that all went pearshaped unfortunately.

I was told months ago that Newcastle and Manchester would both be getting based 757 equiptment. Two 757's was the figure quoted for Newcastle. Remembering that this was well before any announcement of the NCL-TFS service, so fingers crossed for extra flights from Newcastle. Incidentally at the same time I was also told that Leeds is to become a 15 aircraft base for Jet2.

2 757 a/c for a loco carrier at NCL seems an awful lot of capacity? Granted NCL has a very large catchment area and many of the loco routes already operated are doing very well, exceeding initial expectations, but what other routes are left to introduce and many routes would not sustain a 757 with a capacity of 235, especially if the route were on a daily basis. I think generally the loco carriers with 737 and A320 equipment have got it right with just enough seats to fly most routes profitably.

Incidentally, maybe Jet2 could start looking at Eastern Europe, Italy and Switzerland where NCL seems to have a gap?

Italy is quite well served with Rome (Easyjet) Milan (Ryanair) and Pisa (Jet 2). Switzerland ....Geneva (Easyjet) Basle and Zurich would be useful though.

I would like to see Wizzair or similar serving Eastern Europe.

There is a gap in the shape of Austria with Vienna/Salzburg/Innsbruck.

Jet 2 757 a/c would be able to tackle the longer range routes on a loco basis, eg Greece/Turkey

Eastern Airways NCL-LCY

Hi All

First flight on this new service was this morning, does anyone have any details about how many pax were on today's flights, and how the bookings in general are going for this?

Newcastle is still listed on the destinations on the VLM website, so I can only presume they are still interested in this route too?

Cheers

Kev
