It was quiet in the Cork area for a lot of yesterday due to the Eircom broadaband service in many parts of the southside being out of action for up to 24 hours due to a major fault.
However, it is all go again today and even more so at Cork Airport! The airport has been buzzing today! There have been three charters to Manchester for the Roy Keane testimonial game at Old Trafford, two Monarch A320s and an Air Finland Boeing 757 hired in by Eirjet. At lunchtime today Cork Airport had no less than 3 Boeing 757s on the ground together, the Air Finland, the First Choice from PMI and the DHL day-stopper.
Some very welcome extras there to be sure and no doubt all jammed for the big night in Manchester. The Short Term Car Parks are minting it today - another few poundeens off the cost of the new terminal!
To top it all a G-reg Embraer Legacy bizjet also arrived at lunchtime. Now, I wonder if Roy's Mum & Dad were the VIPs for that flight? Ha!
Up Cork! A place hard to beat!

Ryan2000 is correct...The only thing preventing runway 25 extension to the West is lack of money. If the new terminal debt is imposed on Cork, there is no chance of runway extensions.
