I'm sorry if I offend anybody, but I thought that this thread was about Manchester Happenings and not flight experiences. Would some of these postings not be better in the Passengers & SLF forum.

I think the simple answer is that so many announcements have been made on this site - based upon early slot applications - that nothing should be taken for granted, until the airline goes public.
As far as Etihad are concerned I am aware of what has already been said, and where that information has come from, but let's wait and see - do you remember the easyJet saga of last year?
Cheers

Maersk was a daily service and appeared to be doing well !
We can can ill-afford to keep losing services like this, regardless of personal opinions.
If we start criticising operators based purely on timings as a justification that they are "no great loss" we might as well bin 30% of the airlines into Manchester...!

Has anyone else noticed how amny more passengers the Qantas feeder services are carrying? Are Qantas now actively promoting the service?
Some days it is nringing in as many as 30 passengers, which doesnt seem many, but previously it was in single figures.

I wouldn't be too shocked if Jet2 relocated one or two of the MAN based 737s to BLK to run the services using MAN crew. Having three aircraft tied up at MAN running Gatwick, Edi'bugh and Amsterdam isn't a great money spinner with half empty planes. Less fequent but higher yielding routes into the med from Bpool could be a better use.

What Jet2 have done is genius! They have obviously looked at who is booking what, and where they live. There must be heavy demand from Lancashire and Cumbria for flights to Palma, Belfast and Murcia, so they have met demand from the people of those regions and provided the necessary services.
Watch out for a Prague or Budapest service from BLK! There are hundreds of Eastern Europeans working in the resort who need a cheap flight to visi family.
