Medicals

Hello people,

To these who have been through medicals in the past, what do they emphasize on the most?

Eyesight? If so, is eyesight correctable to 20/20 considered? I'm myopic (short sighted) with spectacle prescriptions of:
D0: -5.5 Diopters , -0.5c
D1: -5.5 Diopters, -1.75c
Astigmatism: 0.7

My vision is correctable beyond 20/20, and on a snellen chart, I can read the very last line clearly with spectacles.

Blood pressure:

Nominal BP is 122/77 at rest.

am with u LOPA, ain't proud of my performance with the joystick. but I tend to think the opposite of its sensitivity. I think it needs some energy. do u think we'll get the results this week?

@brainy, I heard that specs aren't an issue, as long as your eyesight is good, corrected or not , your fine. and may I say I have glasses, am also shortsighted, but I literally didn't get any of that!! what, are u premed or something?

The Call

Just received a call today at 5pm and the lady asked why I did not attend today's psychomotor. Apparently, I was supposed to be in today's test but no one had contacted me. On that note I urge those who are yet to be contacted to keep on the hope.

@nickmory

I'm short sighted. Corrected vision of 20/10 with glasses.

What I indicated above was my ophthalmologist's prescription for my spectacles.

I'm not a doctor. More of the Software Engineering type...With some experience as an assistant ophthalmologist, pathologist and anesthetist at the side hustle.

Forgotten Lot

Mguys thats encouraging. I know of a guy who was called in late last week for psychometrics. We were together at the aptitude stage.

On the issue of spectacles, the Chicago convention has laws governing that. Checkout ICAO annex 1 Chapter 6. ICAO Vision Rules for Pilots and Flying However, go through appropriate chapters in annex one because I've not checked whether KQ requires one to hold class I or class II medical certificate.

On that note, may I request anyone who did psychometric on 19th to update us (me) when he/ she receives a call or rejection mail. I want to narrow down to whether KQ looks at the resume or whether it kicks people just like that. You can PM me on that if you arent comfotable with posting it here.

@Joystic thankyou, your call is on the way. @brainy, My worst section was the mechanical reasoning section as i was not able to confidently answer the first 5questions and this slowed me down in terms of time spent also the shapes that have been flipped.....too confusing. In terms of completion of questions, i did 1/2 to 3/4 of the sections. My best part was the last section where there were no questions but instructions.

Pilapt

I gave it my all. Now its out of my hands. For those going in on friday, all the best. Get a joystick and practice with a fsx sim. 2 of my other friends did well too. A ninja did a 8, 10, 10 in the trax. Be gentle with the joystic and keep calm. It was expensive to hire a joystick but somehow I have a good feeling it will be worth it. |MunguHalali
