Sorry I Do Not Share That

GENTLEMEN, how can you say we are all full of crap and endorse it,It pains me that the professionalism of the Nigerian pilot is been taken to the dogs and guys endorse it,its quite unfortunate that low time contract pilots with less than 4000hrs arwe been seen seen as better and worse atill better paid than the home boys who have thousands of hours. It is really a sad day,is it possible to go to the USA,UK,CANADA Band get paid this ransom salaries with the equivalent hours the so called EXPATS have?We must kick against second slavery where we are told we dont know **** unless we are from yonder. How many accidents/incidents have we had locally compared to so called advantaged countries, the latest accident involving the CRJ is the USA is a case in point,How many accidents have been caused becos homeboys could not read rwy directions correctly? How many of the multitude of foreigners in ARIK went to GECAT for assessment and certified trainable let alone employable as commanders enough of this crap, you know its not the fault of FOKKERFELLOW its the colonial mentality of the so called OWNERS that dictates all this second class syndrome and of course the people presently in charge would happily follow thier MASTER.FOKKERFELLOW Please i would like you to send your overpaid foreign recruits to any independent assessor to ascertain thier suitability only after you,ve attended it yourself.NO LIVIUNG ON BORROWED GLORY and lets see how incompetent the NIGERIAN pilot is.Well time like they say will tell this is NAIJA and the beat goes on.

accident in zaria:arik cadets?

there was an accident yesterday in zaria when a training aircraft (5N-CBF)crashlanded some few minutes after take off. There were three cadets on board plus the instructor, a lady pilot. No serious injuries. I assume the students are those from ARIK since ARIK cadets are the only ones training now in zaria.

I blame the stupid NCAA for letting this happen. I am yet to confirm this, if its true, then I dont know what to say. I thought local airlines were not allowed to employ F/Os who dont hold Nigerian Licenses. Seeing our Minister of Aviation merrying at the Arik party last week, then anything is possible.

Guys,
Like i said before, it might be wise to apply from outside nigeria, your claims are not far from true, i too have the offer for being an 'EXPAT' on the B733 and the difference is clear!!!!
We have always sold ourselves short in Africa, be it in nigeria or elsewhere, we happen to be self destructive in our nature, believe it or not, the values of the nigerian pilot were sold to the so called management by pilots like us and i believe we should have no-one else to blame but ourselves.
I gathered that the NCAA gave validations for the expats in time for the inauguration but nigerians have their licences lying in that office, some for over two months in the name of ICAO audit!!!!
We are a total laugh to the real world and at this rate, never respected!!
We must get together and get our acts right!!! We were once the beacon of Africa, now, we are but a shadow of a deserted and barren land, PITY!!!!
We should always look at our thumbs whilst pointing a finger, the thumb points right back at us!!!

Well You got to give them credit, they have some very talented nigerian managers from other airlines joining them as I hear, and there are Nigerian crew members(NOT PILOTS) who I understand have been transformed since they left Bellview and ADC airlines and joined Arik.I think they made the right move using SAHCOL as their GHA.More affordable and possibly better equipment than NAHCO.Appears they have made the best choice for Aviation security by using the company that looks after BA,SAA and Iberia airlines.Even better,I understand they are 100% Nigerian owned, and arguably the best experienced and performing Aviation security company in Nigeria. That move has my vote.I understand the feeling over the discrepancy in pay between local and expat pilots, but thats been the way even in Aviation security where I understand that Checkport/swissport charge the most, deliver the least, incurr a whole load of inads, but are still retained by Air France,Lufthansa and Emirates despite their despicable record.Checkport is a swiss company operating in Nigeria as an aviation security company withoutn a security license.so its one rule for foreign based companies and another rule for Nigerian based companies. Its always been this way.Get over it.

ARIK has postponed its start off till 25th october.

They seem to be facing some challenges in getting working permits for the technical crew and also SAHCOL who failed to offload baggage from the a/c during stimulation.

Well I believe the clue is in the statement:

Appears they have made the best choice for Aviation security by using the company that looks after BA,SAA and Iberia airlines.
I have it on good authority that that is a big big big clue and explains a lot about his outpourings on here.

Avsec,
It is unfortunate that you have decided that foriegn companies can run the system better then the locals, you might get your 'bread' from them and maybe even enjoy it, that makes me happy for you.
My post about being self destructive is borne out of opinions like yours and it is quite disheartening to hear an african say, "get over it"!:To say the least.
You actually think that this sort of practice is acceptable? If so, i see the general direction Nigeria is going in the hands of people with opinions like yours.
This thread borders on arik and what is going on there, i hardly see the relationship to what, when, why or where airlines get security from.

LJT am I right in thinking you work abroad for a non Nigerian company? If that is ok for you then why so much angst at non Nigerians working Nigerian owned businesses in Nigeria?
