Hi Guys,
Im a singaporean , just turned 25.
As stated in the SIA website, it says that the minimum is to have 5passes in GCE 'o' level in one sitting.(inc eng/maths/phy)
Had a D7 in eng with 4 passes inc maths and phy. But pass my eng with a C6 the second time(retake). Currently holding a degree in biz mgmt now.
Do u think SIA will consider my application ?
Or anyone with the same situation of not having the min 5passes in olvl who got an interview ?

Short answer will be "No". You will not be considered if you have less than 5 credits in your O levels, even if you have a degree to back it up.
Reason being, for preparations to become an airline pilot, you are required to take a certain amount of exams in a certain amount of time. The intensity of the studies is akin to taking the O levels. Having a degree does not mean anything as anyone with a level of competence can complete it if given time.
I believe this issue was raised before in this forum. Your best bet is to retake your O levels if you are serious. If not, your application will just be electronically filtered out if you submit it with your current resume.
Good luck.

I'm guessing its not possible w/o the req 5 passes. Cos this is under CAAS regs, not SIA's alone. They cant issue u a license if u dont have the requirements.. I dunno about any appeals though.

The Chinese and South Korean immigration are even silly! On top of a pilot's licence (even with thousands flying hours on big boy), these immigrations require all applicants armed with minimum Bachelor's Degree before they will issue work visa! Damn bloody stupid isn't it?
"No Bachelor's Degree = no visa" - simple as that!

Though it look nice and professional in a suit, it is not necessary. Some guys don't even sport a tie and still managed to get through. To create a good impression and not to overkill, a nicely pressed long-sleeved shirt and pants with tie will do the trick.

MOM/ICA takes in anybody who's willing to work here
that's why SG's population ballooned by so much that the transportation system couldn't even handle it

Hi guys..
I have some questions..
How long do ppl normally have to wait to get a call after the medical? The medical only valid for 3 months I heard.. What if I'm still not 25yo yet 3 months later?
Also, will they call to let us know if we are selected before hand? or only when we are 25?
Thanks in advance!
